HD products initial impression = NOT happy!

Ok, I'm very frustrated. Received the new bottle overnighted from AG. Same consistency. Not happy at all. especially since everyone says it should be thicker. And yes, I even put a ball bearing/nut to mix it up just to make sure. AG said they checked the consistency before it shipped so I don't understand this. Very very frustrated right now.

I was afraid of that. Probably from the same batch. I wonder if they got to hot when they got shipped in? I would get on the phone with autogeek and 3d. Good luck with customer service, most times they are not much help because they never used the products and dont know what you are talking about

Thanks. I am just more frustrated because the guy told me he had opened it up and looked at it and it was thicker. No way - this stuff is just as thin. It's so thin that if I open the spout and turn it over, it just pours out. No squeezing necessary at all.

Ok - just got off the phone with Autogeek...Spoke with the same guys as yesterday. He did check the consistency...said they were all like that - of the ones he has. So basically - that entire batch must be bad. Though I did not get the feeling that they considered them bad. I would imagine, they'll keep shipping from that batch...bad or not.

He told me to contact 3D which is what i will do Monday when they open. Not a happy camper right now...

Until you get the proper Poxy, just use that Meguiars stuff you have; that will work just fine

Thanks stroke. Going to hopefully get to it tomorrow. The speed is good, so I'll use that and hopefully coat with the tech wax or nxt. Haven't decided yet. Might even use the carnuba gold class if I decide to hand apply.

My Poxy turned runny in about 2 months, I have gone through that bottle and about 6 bottles total now and they all arrived real runny. I didn't put much taught to it since it still provides excellent looks and durability varies on customers cars from 2-3 months. I'm guessing the runny consistency is not an issue.

HD speed is an AIO. Use that and you're done. Once you get the poxy sorted out, you can use it the next time you wash the car and skip the speed...

Toro1966-I'm so sorry that you're experiencing these issues. And I'm even sorrier that I didn't see and respond sooner. I can assure you that you will be made whole with this problem.

From reading this thread and reviewing your pics Poxy does seem like it has become separated. Speed & Polish can have a somewhat lumpy consistency which is normal. I think what *could* of caused the issue (dehomogenized) with Poxy is the high heat it *could* of been exposed to in transit. Regardless, I believe all 3 are safe to use in the meantime and the end performance shouldn't be affected. If you'd still like an exchange (which is totally understandable) no problem.

If possible, I know you tried putting Poxy in the freezer, but try putting it in the refrigerator for a few hours after shaking it for a couple minutes and see what happens. I've seen this correct this in the past. Let me know if this helps. I'll be checking this thread for updates & replies.

Thanks for the great response David. I'll try as you mention and put it in the refrigerator for a few hours and see if it thickens up. What concerned me is that it does not seem separated at all. In fact the consistency is very even. It's just very runny. If I pop the top and turn it upside down it just runs out without even squeezing at all. This is the second bottle I received like this from AG so I am not sure if something happened with the whole batch. Is this runniness normal or should it be thicker and creamier? Thanks David!

I'm glad I found this thread. Being runny is just not right.... regardless of performance, which I think would be effected.

POXY certainly has a very thick, creamy lotion like consistency. Like this:

Unfortunately, it's Achilles heal is separation when exposed to high temps. I buy it by the gallon for my shop and this summer has caused a few separation issues. We just stick it in the fridge overnight and it's usually good to go.

The question though is how long does it stay like that after its out of the fridge?

It should stay that way for good unless it sees another high temp which *could* cause it to loosen up.

This consistency issue reminds me of Optimum Poliseal all-in-one. It would seperate over time, especially in warmer weather. Eventually to the point that the oil-like solution would not mix no matter what I tried. It looked like chunks floating in oil and smelled horrible. There was no saving it.

You said it, I just tossed two bottles of Poliseal that did exactly that and I kept them inside. I only had them for about 18 months and they were junk.

I had the same problem with poli-seal when I had it. Didn't even get a chance to use it. Junk....

I used it once on a friends car, it's second rate any way. HD Speed and Menzerna 3-n-1 are far superior based upon having used all three.
