2015 BMW 335i M Sport Polish & Seal

Finally had a couple days off where I could break out the PC 7424 XP.

Step 1:

Used the Chemical Guys foam cannon and my electric pressure washer to get larger trash and sand off the car without marring the paint.

Step 2:

Washed the car with Dawn to strip any dealer wax

Step 3:

Dried and used my NanoSkin AutoScrub medium mitt

NanoSkin AutoScrub Medium Wash Mitt

Step 4:

There are no swirls or imperfections in the car so I used Menzerna SF 4500 fine polish to just give the Mineral Grey some depth.

Step 5:

IPA/Water 50/50 wipe down to remove any polishing oils

Step 6:

I Applied Blackfire Wet Diamond and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then after buffing off let it cure overnight

Step 7: Applied Blackfire Midnight Sun Carnuba Wax and followed up with Chemical Guys V7 spray detailer/sealant.

I want to add a cream glaze, but at this point I don't feel like it.

I didn't take any pictures in the process, but here's the final result. If you take a look back at another thread I started you'll see the back bumper that I had a fiasco with. I took it to a local highly recommended detailer and he wet sanded with 2000/3000 paper and compounded the bumper for me. There's almost no discernible difference now in the clear except for a couple of places that only my OCD eyes can see.

Interior was dressed with 303 Aerospace protectant (LOVE this stuff!) Dressed/protected the leather with Leather Masters leather protecant

Very nice!! What pressure washer do you have? I'm in the market for my soon to arrive foam cannon.
 
Your work is grandiose :dblthumb2: & BMW 335i is a monster car but the colour Grey is not something I would die for :laughing:

P.S. Sorry to inject my colour preferences for 50 shades of Grey :laughing:

 
It's quite alright! Most of my previous cars were white, and if you notice our Jeep is white. I love the Mineral Grey Metallic especially with the red interior.
 
I mean, if you want to look like a jackass, then sure get a chrome paint job. If you want to look like someone who has half a brain then.....

The metallic grey/ gunmetal color will always look great if you keep up on it. Especially when that metallic flake shines through. Can't get that kind of depth/wet look on a mirrored chrome finish
 
Beautiful shine! Nicely done. I LOVE that color combo...mineral with red leather interior. Striking!
 
Excellent work on the BMW! Did you use a white or black pad with the 4500? Also, did the V7 add to the finish? I ask because you had bfwd topped with bfms, which is an amazing combo. Id have been afraid of hiding it with anything.


On the chrome car topic, it's not my first choice, but to each his own. I do wonder how that would affect interior temperatures, especially in a place like Tel Aviv.

I used a white pad with the 4500. Personally I couldn't tell much of a difference when I added the V7 at first, but when I backed out into the sun, I think it made the metallic in the paint have a little bit more presence, but it's probably in my head.
