Tire Shine got into the paint. What to do?

I have had good success with Nissan of America. Go to the Canadian website and start complaining. You have a legitimate gripe. Do it quickly. And don't stop complaining until you are completely happy. It is a PITA, but Nissan usually comes through especially on a new car. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I'll get on it. Its under 2 weeks old. However I should give the dealer a shot first.

I also found spots on the bumper. Tiny and at the bottom but they are there. I don't think repainting is an option now. Its half the car.

Do the panels come in white or would the dealership have to paint them?

I called Nissan Canada today after getting nowhere with the dealer. It didn't sound promising but they said they'll see what they can do. They will review my case and get back to me in a week.

My sales guy said Nissan Canada won't do anything. They'll just refer me back to the dealer. He's been good throughout but his solution is not good.

Is this how Nissan U.S handles stuff

I guess I'll know more in a week.

This is how every car company everywhere handles this stuff.

Go back to the body shop and ask if they can use something called erasor. It is a liquid that body shops have and use.I bought some from a body shop and use it from time to time to remove paint, tar etc.

I have attempted to wet sand this type of tire staining out of painted plastic wheel well lips on a Jeep Grand Cherokee for an insurance claim. I went as deep as I felt comfortable & it did not even budge the staining. So it needed to go to the body shop.

First, I feel your pain and I am sorry this happened to you! Can you feel a bumpy surface when you run your fingers over it? I had this happen before with road paint/greasy slime combo, and I had good luck with a power washer and some Motzenbachers graffiti and stain remover. I also used a mr.clean eraser and some elbow grease.

Oh no. Surface feels smooth. Pictures also don't do it justice. It actually looks like its really in the paint. It looks like there is a piece of plastic above the spots. Weird.

That is weird, my work truck is like that on the rockers, but it had body work done by the previous owner, it almost looks like yellow splatters under the clearcoat.

If the dealer owned up to it and If they have the same color vehicle on the lot I would ask to have parts off their new lot car and they can have yours sent off to the body shop for their car on the lot. Good luck bud

Had a fight with Nissan Canada this morning. They called first thing in the morning and said nothing they can do. Fine I guess, not really there issue. I asked them to step in and call the dealership and find out why they didn't follow the bulletin and ask if they can help get a better fix.

The lady says she already called the dealership and there willing to repaint and Nissan Canada is satisfied with this. When I asked who she spoke to and when they called she wouldn't tell me. I demanded to know who and when and she wouldn't tell me.

I hate when people lie to me. My youtube video for Nissan is private. I know they watched it yesterday. They called first thing in the morning today. How the hell did they contact the dealer already. Dealer is closed on Sundays.

Is asking who she spoke with and when they spoke so confidential? I lost it. I know it really doesn't matter but they can't answer a simple question. I hate Nissan right now.

Start a You Tube channel / campaign against Nissan. Film some videos of the damage. Use tag words like "New Nissan", "new car", "Nissan", "(dealers name)", "(car model)". Tell your story honestly. If you are honest - there isn't much they can do.

People look to YT for reviews when buying new cars. That's what I would do at least.
