Roll Call! Who drives a MANUAL transmission?

Lost again in your own acronyms?

GC = Garage Queen
DD = Daily Driver

They make automatic transmissions?!

I was taught how to drive in a manual transmission truck and mostly have only owned them. I do have a jeep that is auto but that's for winter mostly. Even my semi is manual. Tried the auto for a minute and it just screwed me up. They quit making manual trans and I quit buying newer cars, simple as that.

my previous '10 camaro ss and my '02 z06 were both 6 speeds. Now I drive a pickup (auto)...

And when i ordered my BMW from the Fatherland, an auto was an extra cost item!

Well Nick I've been driving a stick as a DD since 2000 (small break for a year and half with a Honda Fit from Feb 2010 till Sept 2011) and that was because they couldn't find me a 5 speed. I just couldn't take and bought the CR-Z after the Fit, I just had to have it. As you and my fellow members can attest is this, driving a stick makes you a better driver because you have to pay attention to what gear your in because when traffic slows down you need to downshift, in most cases. I'm going to drive a stick for as long as I can, don't care how much better a PDK or DCT is as far as speed goes, it just doesn't matter because you feel at one with the car when there's 3 pedals and there's NOTHING THAT CAN REPLACE THAT!

For you 3 pedal guys, Awesome automotive apparel. One at a time for a limited time, blipshift seems to have cool, pro manual shirts from time to time, I have about 6 of them and counting......

My new GTI is manual. I felt like it was sacrilege to get a GTI in an automatic.

My DD is a 350z and has tiptranoic transmission so you can drive automatic or manual (a computerized version of manual).I have driven it in "Manual" before but Houston traffic is terrible so I don't even attempt it anymore..I am thankful for my automatic.. BTW, I had a pickup truck with standard transmission years ago and it was fun to drive back then..However, since I've gotten older, I don't like having to shift through the gears continuously when I am driving but to each their own..

I'm curious which AGO members drive a manual every day...

There's really only one way this question can be answered because...

You drive a manual and steer an auto. :laughing:
