Rupes or Griots Boss?

Zubair-- Your opinion is your own and I respect that, but what makes your aguement less credible is that you refer to the Boss machines as cheap Chinese knock offs and yet I don't believe you have ever used one or even held one in your hand. If you had and created a comparative review with the Rupes/Boss and pointed out specific points where you believe the Rupes was better then your opinion would garner much more respect.

99monguse -- Sorry your post got thrown in with this mess. Look up posts by Rasky--he did an extensive review/comparison of the Rupes and Boss. I can only comment on my excellent experience using a GG6 and now a G15. But keep in mind that if 3 years down the road your Boss unit breaks, Griots will take care of you under the lifetime warranty as long as you haven't abused it.

Sorry to get off track (whichever track we are on?)
I thought Griots just had a two year warranty on the Boss polishers? Can anyone help me out? Maybe I should just call em.

You chose a machine that resembles a Flex, try searching Zentool/Vertool/Das6 Pro Plus which were all launched a year before the GG and why are the specs of the Boss and the looks identical to machines launched abroad a year before it?

Why the attempts at cover ups?

Have you actually taken apart those machine listed above and compared them...I'm guessing not.

Zubair-- Here's a post you made in June: "The throw of a Rupes and the amps and wattage of a Flex- the best of both worlds. The only issue I see is the rpm or opm which is low, something common with long throw DA's." What happened all of a sudden to change your attitude?

What do you think Rupes or Griots Boss?

You can't go wrong with either one of them. :dblthumb2:

The Rupes has been around in the US going on 3yrs now and has had an excellent track record. I've had my Rupes 21 since November 2012 and it's been a great machine. I also own the Rupes 15, LHR75, LHR75e, and the TA50, all great tools. With that being said I was one of the testers of the G15/G21 machines and I simply prefer them over the current Rupes 15/21 for the comfort, ergonomics, instant start, and the additional power. I've since given away my Rupes 21 to my old man and purchased another G21 last week to eliminate having to swap out 5" and 6" backing plates.

Hope this helps,
Rasky

Wow Rask awesome pictures, true pro, Rask has been a Rupes user for 2.5 years Zubair and was a tester for the Boss System

And he him self says the Boss wins hands down , but if you already have a Rupes, its not a must to have the Boss.

Because of Rasks review I bought the Boss.

Let me tell you something Zubair do you see those parts they look ALMOST IDENTICAL however the Boss is much larger and more manly looking.

So does that look like Chinese crap to you cause it looks the same but just bigger and better.

Or they used fine Italian metals lmao

What a loser

The Rupes doesn't need more than 500W as its designed for low energy consumption without sacrificing power. Todd can comment further on that.

Rupes: For the Purist,Perfectionist,Artist
Griots: For the Hillbilly

Doesn't make a difference if the OP or anyone else chooses a PC over a Flex or Rupes, doesn't affect my life anyways.

I've made my points clear, no need to ruffle your feathers any further.

Your points are meaningless, you're just a hater. No basis what so ever. If you don't own both you have no business commenting on or comparing them. It's shameful for you to bash a companies product that you don't own. But from what I've seen it's pretty typical with you.

This is funny. Who cares where something is made unless you live in the country in which it was made? Apple products are made in China but designed in the US. Americans have jobs at Apple all over the country, yet would you boycott them because their stuff is made in China? Good luck finding electronics that are sourced and made in the US. Griots is an American company that employs Americans. Rupes is an Italian company that employs mostly Italians. I'm sure it is a fine company, and I know they make a fine product, but I don't really care all that much about the Italian economy (in comparison to how much I care about the US economy). The G21/15 and the Rupes machines are wonderful. You can't really go wrong either way. That said, I went with the G21 because I read it was more ergonomic and has a lifetime warranty. That was more important to me than being brand loyal to an Italian company.

A very lame attempt at humour doesn't take away from facts presented. Try again, maybe your next attempt might have an ounce of intellect that may make me chuckle. Or....

Me made me laugh my butt off, that's good enough for me.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Exactly.

I just bought an LG refrigerator two weeks ago which is a South Korean company yet the unit was made in China. LOL.

Just seeing this thread. I just went with the G21. I personally like the subtle changes to the front grip and the warranty is a big plus. Definitely not bashing Rupes but I am happy with my purchase. I am sure Rupes and also Flex have something lined up for SEMA!!!

Already picked it up from Autogeek headquarters. I live 20min away and Nick gave me a great price. Will fit in good with my 3401, Flex PE8, GG 3in and Makita rotary. Used my g21 last week on this gt500

Oh nice. How cool that your only 20 mins.

I lived in Orlando for 3 years.

You should of drove to Italy to get a Rupes instead, since its a more superior machine.

Italian plastic italian metal Italian foam

Since no one mentioned it. One of the best reasons to buy Rupes is their simplicity. Their polishes match up with their pads (e.g. blue pad with polish with a blue top) For a novice or weekend warrior Rupes makes it simple to use their system. For me that is worth a ton. Use their pads and polishes and get a professional shine without the professional. This alone makes it better than Griots. And don't forget with the Rupes system your polishing experience will be virtually vibration free, and that is important to novices and professionals alike. It is just a plus that it is made in Italy. You can vote with your dollars on which political system you support, the Chinese that blatantly support hacking, child labor, and Communism or someone else. Let your conscience decide.

Just goes to show you that all you Rupes superior fan boys know nothing about the Boss or used it.

Griots has the exact same color match system. Lol

And is just as smooth if not smoother then the Rupes do to all the rubber on the machine and comfort.

I used a Rupes and Boss. And the Boss is more comfortable to use then the Rupes and Flex.

On hours and hours of a paint correction all there is is hard cold plastic to hold on to the Rupes.

The Boss had shock rubber grips on everywhere you would hold the machine making it more comfortable then anything.

You see the colors on the bottles that's the pad recommendation.

Also all the Griots stuff is cheaper.

And the pads cut better then the Rupes pads IMO

So just goes to show you that all you Rupes guys know nothing about the Boss but knock it.

I sold my Rupes for the Boss. When something gets beat it gets beat plain and simple.

Bigger motor more power. More comfort . better locking mechanism. Cheaper pads and creams. Better speed dial. Lifetime warranty. Its cheaper. I mean it beats it in almost everything.

To you and Zubair try the machine before you knock it.

Its named the Boss for a reason

Griots has literally the same thing. Use their color coded pads and polishes.

Congratulations on not owning or using a single thing made in China.
