Rupes or Griots Boss?

Don't bother asking Zubair any legitimate questions. He will ignore them and continue to try and make everyone feel bad from on top of his high horse.

Guy has been detailing for less than a year and has had his Rupes(15) for a little over three months and is somehow an expert on all long throw machines. :xyxthumbs:

I know basically nothing about detailing compared to others here - at least I'm not narrow minded about it.

Both! Customer Service is awesome for either company unlike many of the other large throw polishers on the market. Using my Rupes now just because I can go to Kevin Brown for any customer support. All experiences with Griots has been great as well.

I personally went rupes mainly because when I got mine, Boss literally just came out
and there wasn't much review on it.... when meguairs mt300 just came out, i ordered one and returned it after 2 cars.... i didnt want to go over same situation so I decided to go with rupes, which has been out for a while and had nothing but great reviews.

But seems like boss is great machine and also more comfortable in your hand.
if you do a lot of correction, that would be great +

either way, you cant go wrong.

One thing I really hate about autogeek is that..
they have too many great chocies... drives me crazy and took all my money away D:

Sorry to get off track (whichever track we are on?)
I thought Griots just had a two year warranty on the Boss polishers? Can anyone help me out? Maybe I should just call em.

Dunno. I know recently I dropped my Rupes and the plastic nose piece broke. Parts are readily available, both from AGO & Buff Daddy. AGO sent me a new nose piece (free). I'm wondering if the parts will be readily available for the other machine - since the manufacturer and vendor or 2 different companies.

By the way, since we are posting pics - here are two I have come across:

To me, these look almost identical. I think the both even have the same amount of little holes on the shroud. We all know whose design this is. As a reminder - this is what we were dealing with before Rupes came along:

Dunno. Make up yr own mind, but to me - I just prefer what I see as the originator - and the real deal. I'm just wondering how others buy the new machine with good conscious....

Hey gang, please remember that forum rules state:

No bashing any company or their products. No bashing other people. If you can't say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything at all, this also includes talking to others in a demeaning manner. REMEMBER this forum is here for those that are new to detailing and those that have been doing this for years. We expect that you treat everyone with respect no matter what their level of detailing is. We all had to start somewhere.

Let's keep the thread on topic. :dblthumb2:

You can't go wrong with either one of them. :dblthumb2:

The Rupes has been around in the US going on 3yrs now and has had an excellent track record. I've had my Rupes 21 since November 2012 and it's been a great machine. I also own the Rupes 15, LHR75, LHR75e, and the TA50, all great tools. With that being said I was one of the testers of the G15/G21 machines and I simply prefer them over the current Rupes 15/21 for the comfort, ergonomics, instant start, and the additional power. I've since given away my Rupes 21 to my old man and purchased another G21 last week to eliminate having to swap out 5" and 6" backing plates.

Hope this helps,
Rasky

After 7 pages I think this was about the only answer that provided depth such as why. If it was previously posted I could have missed it while trying to skim through responses about each company rather than each polisher.

After checking what is sold by Griots on AG I do not see where Griots has a color coded system similar to Rupes. Griots has 3 colored pads and all of their polishes have red tops. Again I will say that the Rupes system makes it easier to get a perfect finish. I believe the OP was looking for answers and reasons to buy the Rupes over the Griots, IMHO this is a big reason to buy the Rupes system over the Griots polisher. Sport.

The color code is on the bottle label, not the cap.

Well here is what I have. The white pads correspond with the fast correcting cream which has a white dot on the label. The orange pads correspond with the correcting cream which has a orange dot on the label and finally the yellow pads correspond with the perfecting cream which has a yellow dot on the label. Pretty much self explanatory if you ask me.

Just a note, the front label on each of the Griot's products has a pad in the color which they recommend for that product. They have four products with four different colored pads. White, Orange, Yellow and Black.

Is griots compounds silicon free?

I'll add my 2cents. I bought the rupes right when they came out. I love it. I do hate the soft start feature sometimes..

If I was buying again right now. I'd probably jump on the griots. I loved my old griots gg6. Dropped if off a truck and broke the back of the case. I wonder if they'll warranty that...lol

Yep, hard to miss, the welcome guide that comes with the polisher lays it all out very clearly too.

The polishes themselves are colored to match as well, though it is just a subtle tint. They each have their own pleasant scent too. :dblthumb2:
