Wen 2500

I have both a Porter-Cable 7424 I just bought from here and a 1970's Wen 2500 Orbital with an 8" pad. Are there some things the Wen might be used for instead of the Porter-Cable ?

Realize this may be an unusual question but I am just learning the right way to do things.
