Bob

I smelt the blacksmith eariler today smelting my new sword after I had cleaned and gutted our freshly caught smelt.

I've got 2 bottles and both smell like vinegar

Depending upon the climate zone in
which a person resides...They might
just be an excellent auto-glass de-icer,
while they're in this malodorous state.

Yes, much easier to understand

I added paragraphs, to make it even easier

Smelt is a Fish

I appreciate you cleaning up that for me. Sorry for the poor grammar and punctuation. This being a car cleaning forum I haven't been to worried about it. Us Texas cattle ranchers be a little slow in English. It don't take much marbles to own and operate a 7,800 acre cattle ranch. I like cleaning dem cars of mine dats whi I be here.

I could be wrong, but id swear my QID did not smell like vinegar when I got it, but after it sat in my mobile rig I think the heat made it smell so much worse.

That's what mine smells like, the gallon.

I had the same problem OP, here's how it went.

I saw a guy post on MOL or AGO about how QID smells bad. I had already had the gallon in the garage for a month, while I was finishing off my Meguiar's Natural Shine. After seeing the thread, I opened it up to smell it (Odd I didn't smell it after I bought it).

Basically, smelled bad, like vinegar, but not totally offensive like the description from MOL and AGO threads. I was curious if it smelled like the smaller commercial bottles, so I went to Wal-Mart and opened one up and smelled it, smelled the same, so I just took it in stride as being the correct smell, or a normal match.

From all these posts and others I've read on other sites, this stuff just smells bad. I sill find it odd other comments I have read expressed a pleasant smell. It's a shame because I thought it did a great job for it purpose. Meguiars should have my gallon this Friday. If they say that's the normal smell, I will only use it if I don't plan on driving my vehicle for an hour or two and will be looking for a replacement to use for the actual aplication and instances I originally purchased it for.

So I received a call form Meguiars today. To sum things up the customer care rep. said there was nothing wrong with my QID and they are sending me a new one. He also said he didn't find the smell very pleasant but his manager did...Guess it depends on the person doing the "smelling".

So basically it's like a fart? Some like the smell of others & some don't.

After reading this comment...

My having great concern for the welfare
of some members of the human species...

has, once again, been proven to be warranted.

I spoke with Paul at AGO. He pulled a couple gallons from the warehouse and said both were bad in his opinion. He said he was going to contact Megs CS about it.

The gallon I bought at the beginning of the year smells like vinegar. I had asked Mr Stoops if the D149 was affected like the consumer batch that was bad and he had told me no...

I think it just smells like "chemicals" I usually go back over everything with a water damp microfiber towel and never notice anything after that

OP.
Next time you are out.

Stop into an auto parts store or a Wal-Mart.
Find the auto detail section and locate the Meg's QID.
Spray a test sample on the back of your hand.

Compare the scent from the commercial grade product you purchased to the retail product offered on the shelf.

My two bottles got replaced, I received them via UPS today. They smell like a touch of berry with a soda scent to it

Thought about that, I'll do it tomorrow. One would think the two would smell different.
