Has any member worked on stainless trim? I have a 55 Chevy 2dr wagon frame-off resto. Does any one have any info or ideas how to polish out scratches on stainless cargo moldings? New member, thanks willis wagon. I know its not paint detailing, but its polishing!Feed back please

I've had good luck with Mothers mag on everything from S&W revolvers to watches to wheels.

You'll need to get a stainless polishing kit. It's typically will have specific compounds and polishes for their very hard polishing wheels. You can get great results, if you have deep scratches you can sand and compound. Check out Eastwood they sell a kit.

I do a lot of 55 belairs here in fla,I'm a recognized detailer from a Chevy car club here on the treasure coast,I just did a yellow nomad for the car club president if you want to call it that.is the stainless running along the sides of the car.if so I highly doubt you can remove the scratches but look into the Eastwood kit,I would like to know the process in fact I will research it.

I just checked it out the guy pretty much emphasis on just polishing with certain compounds and a drill,or bench buffer depending on how much the kit is I may look into that or flitz which is a very nice cleaner,I currently use mothers and the results are acceptable,I like the Eastwood package cause it contains the compound and polishing wheels in all different shapes from little cones etc.my suggestion would be to call them first before purchasing the kit,and clarify on the topic of scratches rather than polishing

GSKR-I just got EASTWOOD buffer&polish kit. The moldings are cargo area pieces. WILL check with eastwood for stainless compound only to remove scratches. They are hard to get out except if u sand them out. IT is very time consumeing.
