1996 Buick Regal w/ PBL V2

Beading at 18 months still looks great. Pre rinse to remove the dirt from the paint.

It got a fresh wash today with some Pinnacle Black Label shampoo thanks the sample JustJesus sent me followed up with Pinnacle Black Label Coating Booster. This is the first time I have used the coating booster in a few months. No photos after the wash process.

Looks good Michael!

Nice photography work too...

I use the PBL on the wife's Mercedes-Benz SL500 and it looks great all the time and it washed and dries fast.

I'm using a new product on it for maintenance, in fact used it this morning. Works great.

:)

Thanks Mike. PBL has been holding up well considering the car is parked outside 24/7.

Looking forward to hearing which maintenance product you are using on a future write up when the product is released.

This is going to be the final update. I will be polishing the paint to clean it up a bit.

It's just over 19 months into the 20 month time frame since PBL V2 was applied to the paint. Decided to chemically decontaminate the paint one last time prior to claying and polishing.

Followed up by a foam bath using GTechniq W4 Citrus Wash in a foam gun. Bucket had Adams shampoo in it for a bucket wash.

After a bucket wash I rinsed off the paint and was left with some great beading.

Final thoughts:

I am giving PBL V2 the thumbs up. It is rated as an up to 3 year coating. I could have easily gone longer than 20 months as it was performing quite well on all painted surfaces that it was applied to.

This car sits outside 24/7 and is parked under a tree. It has seen bird bombs and tree sap. Neither one caused etching to go through the coating.

I had thought the coating had failed around the 17 month time frame but the car was just covered under so much grime that it was masking the performance of it. After a couple washes with CarPro reset, the performance returned.

Another thing is that the paint has little to no wash induced marring/swirls. That is a testament to good washing technique as well as how hard of a shell the coating formed around the paint. It was not washed on a weekly basis. On average it was washed twice a month.

I did use the PBL coating booster here and there. That is a good way to maintain the base layer coating.

One thing to remember is that I am in Southern California by the beach cities of the South Bay. The weather here is not as harsh as those that deal with snow and the harsh chemicals used on the roads.

I would recommend this to those looking for a coating.
