What products/brands should Autogeek carry in 2016?

It takes two: a chemist and someone who knows what they want that also a lot of people want it too. There is also the marketing aspect which is extremely in the detailing market.

The challenge of smaller ones (like the one in discussion) is costs too high due to low volume which prevents a wholesale price where they can make money but someone who resells it can make money too. They can sell directly but others cannot sell it for a profit.

The bits and bobs I have read sort of suggest that larry is doing the tinkering himself and, as he is not a chemist, this should put the frighteners into any sensible retailer.

The story goes that his wife is the chemist.

FWIW the AMMO NYC vids are very educational and good watching in general. Nice cars and the love this guy has for cars is second to none!

Although I have too many products like everyone else I would certainly try something from them if they were to be added to the AG line, who knows where it could go from there😎

Multi color applicators (foam and microfiber), multi color gloves, multi color handled boars head brushes, polishers that can be used with 2 inch pads, more fiber rinse products, lights for outdoor nighttime detailing.

The Rag Company has my vote.

Like many have said before: micro fiber. I buy all my mf from that other place because it is great quality at a great price. I buy all my other supplies from here, but the mf is too expensive.

There are alot of products that work, some are so so and others below par.
We need a feedback way of letting AG know that. A link to rating section.

A lot of people are loving the Mystery boxes. How about a monthly mystery box of companies wanting to enter AG mixed with a few talked about products from forum.

I like the mystery box idea, but I say forget companies wanting to get into AG, and just send out products or samples of products AG already carries.

AG already tests potential new brands before they offer them.

Every product in the AGO store can be rated. The ratings are at the bottom of each individual product's page.

It's a shame that very few people actually post a rating.

Same with the istore app. There's like 5 ratings, that's it.

And for all the people on this forum, you'd think there'd be a ton of YouTube vids of people testing out some products.. The other day while waiting for my DP AIO Headlight Restoration Polish I searched for any videos on it and there's none. Same for alot of AG products.

Funny you say this because I'm actually starting a YouTube channel for this extemely soon. I've seen this issue as well and hope to solve it.

Groan! Can we please stick to professional lines and not production level crap please?

I was forced to use car Brite when working at a dealer over a decade ago and it is truly cheap crap compared to 3D, Optimum, and AG house brand.

Pro® Products...
especially a few of their specialty products.

Bob

What PRO products do you use Bob? I get my cleaners etc through my distributor but I wouldn't say any of their polishes etc are quality. Honestly I think it would be a shame if AG sold their products being that they are production quality. I do however love their APC, Premo, Bug Remover, and Prime Shine.

Some of their specialty products.
No polishes.

^^^OK^^^

Yet, to me, your below sentiment then seems
to be a little bit on the contradictory side.

You wouldn't want people, that aren't serviced
by jobbers, to have an opportunity to purchase
some of this Brand's products from AGO?

Production quality?
Here are just a few of the "production quality"
Brands sold at AGO...and this doesn't
even include specialty-products Brands:
-Menzerna
-Meguiar's
-3M
-FinishKare
-Optimum
-Sonax

Bob

Again, I'm interested in what specialty products you're referring to.

I honestly only use PRO products because I'm a business. I get APC at $50 for a 5 gallon and degreaser at $350 for a 55 gallon. I don't believe these products are the same quality as those already sold at AG but the difference is not enough to warrant the lower my profit margins. And if you purchase the PRO products in 1 gallon or smaller they are near the same price as if you just buy the DP, Megs, etc. already offered at AG.

All the brands you listed are way beyond what PRO offers. Have you tried their AIOs, compounds, wash soaps, etc? It's just my opinion, but I think PRO brand products are below AG standards.

Again, I did say I use some of their products, but only because the quality difference in cleaners is not enough to warrant the cost difference when buying in large quantities. There is one product however from PRO that AG should look into, and that is their Leather Cleaner, smells great and cleans just as well.

I tried to have this conversation with Bob a few pages ago. I agree, Mark, production products should not be sold on AG.

My suggestions have been
sticking to Professional lines.

Didn't realize this thread was about what your
opinions are regarding any products or Brands.

You're definitely confused if you think
that AGO does not already sell production
detailing products.
