Key in on RL's comment "easy to work with". My favorite types of products, they work well and require no finessing.

Recently used Invincible Primer and Cosmic Coat on the GC and neither were affected in the least bit during application by the high humidity and high temps down here in Florida. That was my real time test and they passed with flying colors.

I was shocked to hear those tiny bottles lasted more than one vehicle.

Based on your review, it appears both products go on no different than a traditional paint cleaner or sealant. Did I understand that correctly? Also, since so little product is needed, would it be easier to do both steps by hand or is a DA still the best way to go to ensure even coverage.

DA is the best way to go, it assures thin even coverage and uses very little product. And yes, it's just like applying a sealant and the paint cleaners and polishes are exceptional too. It's really amazing how little product is used. The biggest caution I would say to a first time user is to go sparingly. Definitely do not prime the pad. I prefer 4" pads on my Mini or 3.5" BP and 4" pads on PC or GG6 for all my DA applications of LSP's etc.

I've used all the PA Polishes, Master Sealant, Invincible Primer / Glasscoat Cosmic Coating System and Esclate / Viking Coat. I have their Rapidwaxx and Spray Duster too.

Just a quick question. You said you used only white pad for the whole car? So this does not have the gummed up product, spent product and removed paint like normal polishes?

I'd be lucky if a pad lasted more than a couple panels that too with frequent cleaning on the fly.

My paint was already in pristine condition. The Esclate Lotion is a paint cleanser with mild abrasives. It lightly polishes the paint and cleans the surface. So, no there was no build up and one pad was fine for this specific job. And trust me, I'm totally anal about changing out pads on paint corrections. :props:

Do you need to prep the paint (with IPA, etc.) after going from Escalante to Viking Coat?

Hi Kevin,

No that step is not necessary, you go right from the Esclate to V.C. or Master Sealant. No IPA wipe etc.
 
I'm curious how much of that gloss comes from the V.C., and how much comes from Escalate. I have a new diamond white pearl vehicle to do, and I planned to use finishing pads, and M205. But I would absolutely use this Escalate stuff, if that's what it did. My coating will be Wolfgang Uber. That's just an extraordinary amount of gloss for that color, IMO.

Polish Angel IMO are some of the best car care products around. I have most of their products even their paste wax.

Esclate is an excellent pre prep product. However, all PA products are made to be used as a system and are designed to be synergistic. So I'm not sure I would go the route you're thinking, that's really up to you. I use them as the system recommended by the manufacturer. In this particular case it was prep with Esclate and coat with VC. I can't comment on using them in conjunction with other products or coatings.
 
PA's a money pit, that's not a bad thing lol. Just used Esclate + Supersport on 1 of my wheels. Not sure which is more the reason, but after I had applied both later that day I sprayed it with a water bottle and the water literally started to fall right off and it looks like no water had even been on it within a minute. Products aren't cheap, but you use so little. I was pretty impressed at how the combo made my wheel look too, and I just did it pretty quick. When I do the other 3 tomorrow I'll put more time into and see how it looks. I definitely love PA and will probably buy all their products before the years up.
 
May try it and I like the shelf life compared to others.

Thanks for all the quality information, I pulled the plug today as on the "sister site" 20% off orders so more than likely next weekend!
 
I am trying to apply coat of VC on friends Ducati before he moves up to Canada (will be perfect for Great White North's harsh winter weather)

But I have couple questions (actually tried to call autopia, but non answered lol)

1. I know PA is made to order, so if I order from autopia, is it still made to order?

2. Can I skip Esclate lotion? or does it work as primer like cosmic?

Question #1 I don't know. The product I ordered was fresh and arrived promptly from Autopia.

I can't comment on #2 as I always use Esclate first.

Maybe you can find that answer on their website description of Viking Coat. I don't think you have to use Esclate to get the full benefits of Viking Coat.
 
Escalate acts as a paint cleaner, fine polish and primer. If you use Escalate, you don't need to wipe with an IPA. So I would only skip it if paint has already been polished.
 
Maybe I will give McKee's coating prep and do IPA wipe down instead.
