Leather repair products - bandaid only?

For those who have experience with the many products out there what's your take on the quality and duration of the repair?

My seats does not have any tears but has some cracks and some areas of the original dye has worn off and I would like to see if these dye kits out there can be a permanent fix? Not sure if the "crack fillers" and "dye" from these kit will cause more harm than good and whether the dye is as durable as the original
 
I have not tried it but my brother in law was telling me how he loves leatherique. I do plan to try it out when I find the appropriate job for it.

I use to work with a interior repair guy,he would fix them and I would detail them at a mb store in south fla when I was a vendor for them.It takes a lot of skill and training to repair or recolor a seat.you have to be able to customize paint shades and colors so that the average joe would not recognize .so I would definitely seek out a repair guy that does this kind of stuff 365 days a year.You can't buy the resin or color system like they have,he use to apply color in a straw and blow the color on the repair.so my personal opinion would be not to mess with it.
 
I dont intend to diy and if I want to proceed, I would take it to vetted expert. But want to make sure I hear it from others who use it and not the guy who would sell it to me.

My concern is if the repaired area can be treated, cleaned, and protected like normal good leather afterwards

You can clean and condition with major caution.its more of a temp fix when it comes to this scenario it's a crap shoot to how long it will hold up.
