Cold weather rinseless washing

I've done a RW with very hot water down to 32-35 and that's my limit outside. I'm curious to see how well WGU would work in this environment...anyone know?

The problem is the water doesn't stay warm very long. I washed my car in a heated space and started with warm wash (WGU) and rinse water. The outside temp was about 25* so that's what the paint temp was when I started. Started on the roof and had a bit of a streaking issue but as the paint warmed up it wasn't a problem. The water didn't stay warm very long because I was dipping a cold wash mitt in the buckets.

Obviously letting the car warm up first would help that. I remember reading recently someone who added a heater to their wash bucket to keep the water hot. It was for keeping water troughs for animals at farms warm and free of ice in the winter.

Yup! That's me too, that bucket heater is amazing and it's dang cold here to be working outside so all options are on the table. I did two interior details today with a high temp of only 27 degrees (was about 22 when I started) and that heater was the only reason I could. Too cold for even a rinseless with hot water though so "interior onlys" are the all I can do right now. :bash:

What's this heater you're talking about?

Trying to do a rinseless is a PITA when the water's this cold. Lol.

Yeah, that's not fun at all. I got this one a few months ago and have no idea how I made 10 winters before this

It'll heat about 3-4 gallons from 35ish to quite warm/hot in about 15-20 minutes. I fill a bucket as soon as I get to a job and start heating it and by the time everything else is set up, I have pretty warm to hot water. I'd never back.
