So now that the new year is upon us, what is everyones goals???

Business owners- Are you planning to expand or branch out??

Weekend warriors- Are you planning to make the jump to full time detailing?

Let's hear what everyone has in store. Even if you are not planning anything huge!!!

I will start off. First I know I had mentioned a while ago about the possibility of moving back north and leaving sunny Florida and Autogeek behind. After a few setbacks and the holidays slowing things down a bit, it appears that the move will be happening. My wife is just waiting the official contract which will be here next week sometime. As long as numbers are good then off we go.

This will have both negative and positive impact I feel on my detailing. This year I really have stepped up my frequency of work and have really considered going full time. Obviously I have pulled back a bit due to the situation but I feel that it's still a possibility after the move. One thing for sure is that I have a lot of decision making to do this winter!

I also would really like to personally thank everyone who is part of the PBMG staff. They have been a big part of my success and stepping up my detailing game!

Who knows, Final Inspection may start full steam ahead come spring time!

Happy New Year everyone!

Looking at taking on a few cars (besides our 2 cars). A good way to make use of my "Auto-OCD" and all these excess bargains I ended up buying, thanks to Nick & his crazy specials!

Here's to a cleaner & greener 2016!

Nothing wrong with that!!! That's how it all starts!!! Also nothing wrong with blaming Nick! Ha-ha. I do it all the time.

Really focus on becoming a better detailer and practice a lot on paint correction.

I open shop on Jan. 4 this year. My goal is to get in as much experience as I can while focusing on my quality. I'm very very new and won't worry too much about the time it takes me the first 3 months. After that I want to work on speeding up my process to maximize profits. By years end I would like to have a 2-3 fleet accounts and some loyal, educated clients that will be my base accounts and give great referrals. I have a full time job now but I'm done by 11a. Plan to open shop from 12-6 and by 2017 be financially able to leave my other job.

2016 Goals for FTA:
50+ coating jobs
$15k per month revenue
3 Full time employees (1 being a shop manager)
Either buy some property to build a new shop or start leasing a second shop in a nearby city.

•No...
-Not ever going to consider making
the jump to full-time detailing.

•In fact:
-I'm planning on doing less detailing
altogether...even on our own vehicles!
-Looks like WW-I got/QD-ing will just
have to suffice.
-It's high time I get out and enjoy Life
with the Good Wife a whole lot more!

•Time's running short...
-I'll let someone else fuss over keeping the
vehicles swirl-free, spotless, and shiny...
when I'm dead and gone.
-{I've heard rumors that it'll be whomever the
wife hires on as the "cabana boy/pool boy".}

Maybe for 2016, I will set aside $25 towards a car lift every time PBMG has a sale....By end of the year I should have enough.

Try to not buy anymore detailing supplies unit I at least put a dent in what I bought last year. Tough with only three cars, one of which sits half the year and barely is driven the other half. Tough to go thru supplies when you're just an enthusiast.

I've got a lot more specific company goals written down, but they all come back to these base five. Really looking forward to making a huge jump in the business this year as my first full year here in Bend Oregon. :dblthumb2:

I actually have similar goals Bob....
After getting hit from every direction with potential customers wanting last minute details and me turning them down because I closed shop for the season, I started to really think about how busy I really want to be detailing.
I detail for fun and because I enjoy it. But if I ramp up my jobs I fear I won't enjoy it anymore. So I'm really considering just keeping my one loyal customer and telling everyone else I only do my own cars. Maybe help out a friend as a favor here and there.

I also don't want to obsess over my own car as much.

On a non-detailing note, I have a lot of races this year and will be running my first marathon :xyxthumbs:

My goal was to get my 1st DA for new years. But I went crazy ordering pads, compounds, polishes & polish removal towels. Now I don't have enough left for my DA lol. I knew there were some expensive MF's out there, but up until yesterday I didn't know $15 polish removal towel's existed. Without even thinking much about it I ordered 6 :( I'm going to be scared to use them because I don't want to mess them up lol.

I know my resolution next year will be TO NOT BUY any more $15 polishing towels. I hate this addiction to detailing I have.

And:
Good Luck on your 1st Marathon Race...
{What a goal to set for oneself!}

Bob

i have a few goals:

build my reputation and clientele so that i'm steady, not super busy a week and then nothing for a few days (repeats often)

purchase a vehicle that i can show off my work. leaning towards either a lexus IS300, bmw 3 or 5 series, or a mercedes C230. looking for something luxary, in the 5-7k range.

attend detail fest in march

do as many coating jobs, and work towards getting authorized for CQ finest.

never lower my standards, and feel more comfortable turning down jobs that are "too dirty" or customers that expect too much for too little.

Thanks so much Bob!
It's on my bucket list. I decided earlier this year 2016 would be the year :dblthumb2:

Get used to your addiction, don't hate it. You could be addicted to worse. I know what you are going through with your towels. I started out the exact same way, not wanting to mess 'em up. Now I own around 300 micro fiber towels, all 16 x 16. Most are from AG, but a few are from elsewhere. I have backups for the backups that are backing up the backups. It's alright to use a towel or two when you have 38 more of the same standing by. And I'm OK with my towel addiction.:xyxthumbs:
