... Whether it's parking a mile away...

... Whether it's making sure that you've got the most ideal parking spot...

... Someone's got to go and F it up for you.

Not even a note.

Can't do much about those dings and dents near the charge port, but I'm hoping the general depression of the quarter panel can be fixed.

Paintless dent repair guy coming next weekend.

Any chance of security cameras where your car got assaulted?

Not staffed on weekends, so I'm going to check Monday.

Paint readings are between 85-90 in that area. Hopefully there won't be a need for too much polishing.

^^^ Arrrgh; Curses; (•) many times!!! ^^^

-There's got to be some mathematical relationship
between the way vehicles end up distributed in a
parking lot...and the positions taken by herd animals,
(like sheep or cattle), when they're out there in a field.

Is it possible someone in your household isn't telling you the truth??? Or, maybe it happened some other time and it's now just being noticed?

Always possible.

But, this side of the car is away from my wife's car since I have to plug in every night. She never drives the car. It's possible my wife hit, but she would have told me.

I took pictures of the car last week, as I always do after a good wash. Vanity, I know. The dent wasn't there. Furthermore, there is a sharp dent that snagged the MF towels today when I was cleaning the area to inspect it. Washed it last week. No snagging.

It's also possible that I did it turning a corner in the parking garage, but I'm there early and there are virtually no cars there.

Cleaned with DP rinseless. The reflection is horrible now.

It'll be fixed one way or another.

Got a quote today. $1200...argh.

Sounds like a lot of cash but if you do not fix it you will never be happy with that car. I had a 100 dollar dent that just could not be ignored till I had it fixed. I forgot about the dent instantly when it was fixed. It is a shame what happened to your beautiful car but that is going to get fixed and you are going to feel better.

Kevin, is that T just plain and simple black or is there metallic flake in it? If it is just black and it needs fixed properly, they can panel paint it without disturbing adjacent panels.

Well, it's a metallic blue color. It was a popular color because in low light it appeared black and in bright light is has this shiny metallic blue color.

I'm going to have them attempt to do it as a PDR.

I called the insurance company. Bunch of sharks there.

I got my car back recently, and today I finally got the chance to wash it. Took it to the local coin op and hosed it down. Then brought it home to do a D114/WGURW wash. I was initially pleased with the results when I saw them at the Tesla dealer -- now I am convinced it was a great job. The guys did just about everything you could have done for a paintless dent repair of a quarter panel with some narrow spaces and next to the high voltage lines.

Nothing beats a new panel with matching paint, but this is pretty damn good.

PDR is an art. It's a good feeling hooking up with the right technician and have your ride looking nice again.

Also, what would you give to catch the person responsible... I know the feeling. When it happened to me (3 times, in my own stall), I would have given a $100 just to see who did it.

Was $1200 the PDR cost? Who did it?
It ended up being $1380. The $180 over was what Tesla charged me for the labor of removing/installing the tail light and disconnecting the charge port/voltage line. The PDR was done by Eddie's PDR in Chicago. They worked on it for about 8 hours. Eddie's PDR removed the bumper as well.

I have new respect for this art. I used to think it was a couple guys who would heat up a panel and pull it out with a suction device. But, after watching a bunch of videos and learning more about PDR and aluminum panels, I realized that they earned every bit of that $1200.

The only slight issue I have is now the bumper, quarter panel and passenger door have swirls galore on them. I can live with that until the spring. Might take a quick run on those sections with Essence until I do my annual polish.

Wow, something did a number on your car!

I'm glad the PDR worked so well... It is an art form for sure. I've used it many times with my vehicles. Amazing what they can get out.

Patience on the swirls... I feel your pain.

Sucks! But glad it got fixed. I have a few dents i have to fix, i'll see if Eddie's PDR can fix mine. People are cruel indeed. Sucks especially if you care for your car.
