First time polisher kit ?

I'm surprised that it comes with such large pads.

I think a kit with 5.5" pads would be better for the PC.

Thank you

I've read a lot on the forum about 5.5" pads being more effective than 7" pads when polishing with a DA. If you're just spreading wax, maybe you'll be ok? I'm not sure the time saved will be worth the compromise of having to miss tight spaces. Especially if you're just working on your own vehicles.

I did not see that was a 7 inch pad . I wanted a kit I can grow from .. I figure that be a great start up for me . Do to it has meguiars product
All I know is meguiars product from walmart ..
Thanks for the help

I just recently purchased my first PC 7424XP from AG and know the many kit choices can be a little overwhelming. I picked this kit...
Lake Country - Porter Cable 5.5 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pad Kit FREE BONUS

This seemed to best fit my needs. I didn't need products (very happy with the BF stuff I have) and liked the ability to choose my own 5.5" pads with this kit. The full-sized bottles of pad cleaner and conditioner that came with it were a nice extra.

Good luck!

I am more than happy with with my Wolfgang GG6. The GG6 is more powerful than the PC and has a lifetime warranty. You also can't go wrong with anything Wolfgang.

I would say spend a little more and go with this kit if you're looking at 7424XP kits.

The 5.5" pads will run better on the 7424XP.

I have the WG kit with the GG6 with more pads. I have 7 total of each pad. I recommend more pads with any kit you decide. I also recommend buying 2 black CCS pads for applying wax or sealants. The reason why is if you end up using your crimson red for light correction(WG glaze) then you will still need clean fresh pads to apply wax or sealants. Only drawback to the WG kit. I agree with both and recommend the WG kit with the GG6. (Griots Garage). It is not necessary to buy extra pads if you do not want the extra expense. Just be prepared to clean your pads on the fly.

As for your other question about the bonnets, they are used to remove waxes or sealants. But with two, there is not enough to do that ubless you buy more. What I recommended is to use your MF towels to remove as much off as possible then go back to with the bonnets and buff to a shine.

Buy a Griots 6" and change the backing plate. The warranty is lifetime and the customer service stellar.

Pads, pads, pads. I have like 15 orange, 12 white, 4 blue, and two black.
Megs products are good. Can't go wrong with the Ultimate line.

If you can wait, I would wait for specials to come to save you some money. They come fairly often. You can save yourself shipping and and usually a coupon on top of that.

PM`d you about sale on AG`s sister site they have a sale going on now

This would be a very practical starting point. Just add the megs Ultimate line.

Nothing wrong with the PC. It's a very comfortable, and capable machine. I actually prefer it to other more powerful machines at my disposal.

I think this maybe what I order with 15 percent and free shipping
GG6
Meguiars DMCKIT5 DA Microfiber Correction System 5 Inch Starter Kit
Meguiars D156 Synthetic X-press Spray Wax

That looks like a nice starter kit.

Not too much, not too little, not so expensive that you're wasting money if you don't use some of it a lot. yet it will let you try some different pads and see where you might want to invest more in the future based on your needs.

HD Products go a lot further than most too, so it's like double the value. Not only are they excellent and very user friendly, a little goes a long way. I use have as much of their polishes than most other competitive brands. The replacement costs are also much lower.
