I traded in my 2014 Civic Si for this 2016 Audi A3 2.0t quattro. The car is new and has never been washed but it did sit for nearly 6 months at the dealer without anyone touching it. Here it is in my driveway with 300 miles on it. Just a little dirty. The color is Lotus Gray.

Wheels were cleaned with 3D BDX and the tires and wheel wells were cleaned with Adam's APC.

Here it is after a wash with Adam's Car Shampoo.

I then sprayed the car down with 3D BDX.

I then got the car fairly dry to pull into the garage and clay it.

Only the horizontal surfaces were badly contaminated.

Here is the initial condition of the paint.

Pretty good except a few areas had minor water spots.

Because the paint was in relatively excellent condition, I proceeded with CarPro Essence on a polishing pad at speed 4 on a GG6.

I then brought it back into the garage for:

I also went around and cleaned all of the rubber window trim using Adam's APC

Rubber trim and tires were then dressed with Adam's SVRT. The wheels and windshield got Adam's Quick Sealant. The rest of the glass got HD Poxy.

The final result:

Looks awesome! I've been torn on a coating for my CC. Really want to try uber but have also heRd good things CQUK.

Congrats on new car. Did the Essence add anything to the gray?

Car really shines, great job.
Thank you

Thank you. I prefer the application of Cquartz over Uber, but I can't comment on Uber's performance yet. Cquartz was still going strong on my Si after 18 months.
Congrats on new car. Did the Essence add anything to the gray?
Thank you. There really wasn't any noticeable difference after essence. I'm sure it helped a little, but the paint was nearly perfect to begin with.

Beautiful car. Just make sure to get rid of it before the warranty is up.

Why do you say this?

They (Audi/VW) are notoriously expensive to work on. I won't come out and call them unreliable for fear of people trying to prove me wrong but let's just say....

I have a tattoo of a check engine light in memory of that dark (VW) period of my life.

Got the mirrors and grille wrapped today.

How do you like 3D BDX?

It's fine with agitation, but otherwise I don't really care for it. I have tried it as a touchless cleaner like in their promo video but on a wheel much less contaminated, but the results are only mediocre. It also dries very quickly compared to other iron removers.

I've heard this before but have been amazed at how expensive maintenance/repairs/parts are for Mazda CX5s compared to my 10 year old VW Passat wagon. I've been lurking on a couple of Mazda forums as I'm considering a CX5, but the charges I hear reported are high compared to what I'm paying at a VW dealership.

10yr old...that's why. I have a 99 mazda protege and parts are peanuts. I also have an 06 mazdaspeed6, most parts shared with the regular mazda6 are cheap, awd and trim specific parts are expensive. Try a hyundai santa fe...POS car and oem parts are a ripoff.
