Cleaning Pads on the Fly?

I remember someone sending me a link on this topic before, and can't find it in my old posts. Does anyone else have this link at all, or the directions on doing so.

I read an article by Mike Phillips though, that using more frequent dry pads is better than using, "Just Cleaned" wet pads?

This was from last year, so I don't know if there is updated info on this subject now.

I use a pad brush and "brush" the pads after every few sections to remove the built up product and or paint residue. If you do not have a brush, you can use a terry cloth towel and spin the pad on the towel in your hand.
 
I like a pad brush, and a microfiber towel. I graze the pad with the brush after every section cycle, and wipe the residue with the mf towel.

I like the mf because the fibers don't lint onto my pad, and because the fibers grab and hold the residue.

So glad I found this. I have been trying to justify the expense of a GG6 but having to buy so many pads to do my F150 was scaring me a little. So I am assuming that I could get 2 orange, 2 white and maybe 2 black and clean on the fly and I will be good for polishing my truck?
 
I have the grit guard pad cleaning bucket, but have found I can't get the pads dry enough to use them "on the fly" so I just use a pad cleaning brush. If I'm compounding, I'll pull the pad off the DA while I'm wiping off the compound to let it cool, because it builds up a lot of heat on the velcro, and I have melted the velcro on a few pads pretty quickly.

I fixed the YouTube video code on the article page... when the forum was upgraded no video posted before the upgrade displays correctly. Each time I find a non-working video I fix it.
