McKee's 37 Product Expert Here!

Your going to love the fast wax, and Jewiling wax, awesome stuff

Awh man! The Fast Wax looks pretty nice, reading the reviews all you guys that have it . . . I need it. :props: Shame liquids are so expensive to ship the 8000+ miles all the way down here to NZ or I'd be ordering a few gallons for sure!

Congrats on the line up Nick - makes for a whole lot of confidence when the time comes to hand over the cash when someone like you has had so much input into them! Top work! :dblthumb2: When do the banners get printed???

McKee's 37 Waxes, Compounds, Coatings

McKee’s 37 is the culmination of Detailer’s Pro Series and XMT Car Care. We took the very best from each line and added several all-new products along the way.

With as much time as I have invested in McKee's 37, I almost feel like I could call it my own. I'm here to answer any question you have about any McKee's 37 product. :)

To say that I'm excited about this launch would be an understatement. Bring on the questions. :righton:

I look forward to trying the new products. Just a question. If the products are new, why are there reviews on them and some dating back awhile?

Many are the old products "tweaked" otherwise there wouldn't be any reviews yet.

Is Autopia going to continue to carry DP and not get the McKee's line, or are the just getting rid of the rest of the DP product before they get McKee's?

Hi Nick,

Most of the product replacements from DP and XMT seem obvious in the McKee 37 lineup. However, one that isn't so easy to "map" to the new products are the former XMT1 - XMT4 polishes. Example: Is the Fast 37 compound most closely matched to XMT3 or XMT4 in cutting ability? Likewise the McKee 37 Fast Polish, does that most closely resemble XMT1 or XMT2?

Lastly how does the Trademark 37 Carnauba paste wax differ from the DP Max Wax? The price difference is $ 10 so assuming there is something different?

Thanks Nick,
ScottH

Nick, long time no talk. Hope all is well. McKees prep polish, similar to DP Prep Polish? I loved that stuff, my 32oz finally ran out. Thanks in advance.

Nick I lied! I have one more question. I don't see a dedicated sealant in the line. I see 360 (polish and sealant) and the paint coating, but no sealant (such as the XMT carnauba glaze or DP paint sealant)?

ScottH

Same thing here...no sealant. What is the durability of the jeweling wax? Can it be topped and what do you suggest?

is Jeweling wax AIO? if so

what is the difference between Jewling Wax and 360?

I'd like more info on the jeweling wax
And did the DP AIO headlight polih make it to the new lineup as i don't want that to disappear..

Nick I have a few questions:

What kind of tweaks were made to the Xtreme Foam shampoo?

Is 360 the replacement for Poli Coat?

Any tweaks made to the glass coating formula? I am a fan of DP Glass Coating.

Was the glass restorer reformulated? One of my least favorite attributes of this product was the short working time and dust.

How does the McKee wheel glaze compare to DP Wheel Glaze? How long does McKee last and how often would you recommend it be applied (ie every other wash, every wash)?

Was the formula for the tire coating reformulated as well? How does it now compare to DP Tire Coating? I'm a fan of the DP tire Coating.

What is the estimated durability of the jeweling wax?

Thanks Nick

I know it would be a ton of work, but I'd love to see a list of each McKee's 37 product, what it's replacing, and briefly what was changed. Something like:

McKee's Super Awesome Wax - replaces DP Awesome Wax, and was tweaked with more UV protection.

I just received the XMT #3 and #4 swirl remover as a gift from a recent sale. Thank you very much!!!

I noticed when I search for XMT #3, the Autogeek link takes me to McKee's 37 Fast Compound so I am assuming it the same. Is it?

Is there a product that replaces the #4 Heavy Duty Swirl Remover?

I just tried it out on a set of headlights to remove sanding marks and it was nice to work with.

How do the other polishes relate?

The compounds, polishes and waxes in the McKee's line share nothing with the XMT products they replace. They are brand spankin' new formulas.

I posted this in Mike's introduction thread I'll post here too.

I had the pleasure of working on that 1940 ford, and we used McKees new line.

This line is the real deal, the polishes are amazing.

Long work time is not the word for fast cut, more like infinity buffing cycle.

This stuff plays so nice and works nice and wet making the polishing experience very nice, I thought I was using a finishing polish on the compounding stage, as well as easy wipe off.

The polish same amazing properties, and the jeweling wax is a really nice unique feature, and just like Mike said

"Jewiling wax is something this industry has needed for a long time"

It has a very mild abrasive in it, what so special about that?

Well your getting the benefits of a real 3 stage polish, not just a compound, polish, then wax.

Your compounding, polishing, JEWILING the paint while adding protection!

Not just compounding, polish, then wax, your getting the benefits of using that nice soft wax pad , while polishing and protecting that paint to a high shine

Ya sounds sweet right ? That's because It is!

So it's like a 3.5 step, awesome stuff.

Bob McKee knocked it out of the park with this lineup.

Look out for my reviews.

There's a lot of special sauce in Jeweling Wax. ;)

Thanks for the feedback!

is DP going away completely? I think the low price point of the products filled the void between all the pbmg line up.

also can we get a list of what was completely brand new and what was tweaked

DP and XMT were replaced by McKee's 37, a line that starts at a price point even lower than DP or XMT.

Anything new with the coatings in the lineup?

Slightly longer "working time" - that's it. Durability, gloss and slickness remain the same.

What was changed with the Hi Intensity APC? Thanks Nick

Oops - that's one product we didn't change. It was relatively new, and was as good as it was going to get, so it remains the same.

Awh man! The Fast Wax looks pretty nice, reading the reviews all you guys that have it . . . I need it. :props: Shame liquids are so expensive to ship the 8000+ miles all the way down here to NZ or I'd be ordering a few gallons for sure!

Aaryn NZ.

McKee's 37 banners will be coming out soon!

Many are the old products "tweaked" otherwise there wouldn't be any reviews yet.

What? There's a lot of reviews for McKee's 37 products on the forum thus far.

Is Autopia going to continue to carry DP and not get the McKee's line, or are the just getting rid of the rest of the DP product before they get McKee's?

Autopia will have McKee's 37 early next week.

Hi Nick,

Hi Scott,

Fast Compound would compare to #3 in aggressiveness, Fast Polish #2, and Jeweling Wax #1.

Trademark provides better durability than Max Wax. Otherwise, they are identical (ease of use, gloss, slickness)

Nick, long time no talk. Hope all is well. McKees prep polish, similar to DP Prep Polish? I loved that stuff, my 32oz finally ran out. Thanks in advance.

Very similar, but easier to work and tailored more for hand application. Everyone seemed to apply DP Coating Prep Polish incorrectly with a DA polisher (worked it too long, too much pressure, too high of a speed) so the formula was tweaked for hand application more so than DA.

Nick I lied! I have one more question. I don't see a dedicated sealant in the line. I see 360 (polish and sealant) and the paint coating, but no sealant (such as the XMT carnauba glaze or DP paint sealant)?

ScottH

DP Poli-Coat was always a light cleaner wax, so there was never a "finishing" sealant in the line. McKee's 37 is no different, with McKee's 37 360 being the "sealant" in the line, per se. 360 is 95% as durable as Poli-Coat, with much better correction and cleaning ability. You're going to love it.

Same thing here...no sealant. What is the durability of the jeweling wax? Can it be topped and what do you suggest?

Jeweling Wax = 8-12 weeks
Trademark Paste Wax = 8-12 weeks
XMT 360 = 6-7 months
Fast Wax = 8-12 weeks

is Jeweling wax AIO? if so

what is the difference between Jewling Wax and 360?

Jeweling Wax utilizes much greater abrasive technology (not to say 360 is a slouch), plus it doesn't contain nearly as much cleaners as 360. 360 is the "set it and forget it" all in one. It's very durable.

Jeweling Wax is a beauty wax for sure.

I'd like more info on the jeweling wax
And did the DP AIO headlight polih make it to the new lineup as i don't want that to disappear..

Headlight polish is virtually the same, minus one formula tweak that makes it less prone to drying out when the fluid level is low in the bottle.

Thanks Nick

Xtreme Foam Formula contains a different preservative, so it will retain its viscosity in high humidity climates (like a garage in South Florida ;) ). Otherwise it's virtually the same.

360 is a replacement for Poli-Coat.

Longer working time for the Glass Coating.

Wheel Glaze isn't as tricky to wipe off if left on for too long (like it was before).

Minor tweaks were made to Tire Coating so it doesn't become "coagulated" with extreme variances in temperature (ie: shipping from sunny Florida to freezing cold Akron Ohio).

Jeweling Wax durability is 8-12 weeks.

.............

Goodnight folks!

Thanks Nick. I was not expecting you to answer so quick. You are not messing around getting this information to us.

Bob (McKee) built a cot in my office, right next to my computer which has a screen that cannot be turned off.

(Just kidding, it's called salary! )

Another question. How does the fast compound compare to the other compounds out there? HD Cut, Griots Fast Correct, M100,etc....does it cut on the same level as these? The product description seems like it is a milder product? Any clarification appreciated. Thanks

The bottle states it will remove 1,500 grit.

However the longer work time that it holds I feel will give you more cut.

It is a SMAT abrasive and this product works so long and really wet, and it finishes pretty amazing too. I would say its more on par with fast correcting cream and correcting cream from griots to give you an example.

Its a elite compound
