Hail really sucks!!

Plenty of good PDR techs in Texas. That's a gravy job.

My replacement Camaro was on it's way from the rail yard in Mesquite to the dealership this morning. I'm sure glad they didn't get this part of the storm over there!!
Replacement?
Which dealer? Classic?

Gonna be BIG $$$$$$$$$$

Heard insurance cos were afraid of the aluminum bodies.

Yeah, but Ron, plenty of cars have had aluminum panels for a long time, most notably Audis, but plenty of other cars have had certain panels out of aluminum for weight savings. Not saying that it isn't more expensive to fix than steel, but it's nothing new.

I mean wasn't it like 15 or more years ago that Audi did the whole A8 in aluminum?

Shoot, it's longer than that, this article from 2002 says 1994: Historical Background on Use of Aluminum at Audi

Maybe you could check in with the local car club and see if/when one hosts a "dent day."

I went to one here BMW/Subaru day, and pretty much paid $30 to what would have been $100 as the going rate.

Good luck.

Yep...my guy told me this morning that he charges more. He had actually told me that a few months ago when I was over there with my daughter getting a dent fixed on her car.

I'm in Abilene and we've been lucky so far. Sucks that happened man. I drive GM's but those are beautiful trucks.

Subbed out a big dent in an Audi RS5 hood....$200.

Took him 45 minutes.

Cursing the entire time.

Great idea, but at 3K in damage it's going to be a pretty lengthy process. Counted about 65 dents in the hood alone. Insurance adjuster and on PDR guy said the hood may need to be replaced. Fortunately there is a large profit margin in PDR and roofing. Companies are covering the deductibles.

Yep...they charge double. Fortunately a lot of these are smaller dents. I hate the fact that the headliner is going to have to be pulled out.

Well here is part of the hood of my wife's 2015 F-150 Lariat. Got every panel except the bed.

Never had this problem before...can't get this to post upright. Not that you can't see the damage with it upside down lol
I encountered that on Thursday in Orlando on interstate 95 could not find a friggin bridge to park underneath.luckily no damage.I would get a new hood for that if your looking for 100 percent repair.pdr with that many dents will weaken and stretch the metal.

Then you have the roofing companies coming out of the woodwork. Going up and down the street. One caught me when I was out washing the truck. Tried to tell me he would cover the deductible by using money we got paid for things we'll do ourselves. Guy was trying to get my insurance claim number. This is the third roof we've replaced almost everyone waves the deductible, he was just trying to screw me out of 1600.00.
Got paid 1100.00 to power wash and restrain the fence. I figure we can get that knocked out by ourselves in a few hours. Gotta look for the positives!!! lol

They say the aluminum doesn't really stretch like steel. That was why he said probably replacement. I've never done any body work on aluminum so I have no idea how it will react.

Well good luck on everything try to keep positive.

I love my Camaros!! She's actually driven Acuras for years. I guess we've been in Texas for so long now we should have at least one pickup lol. They are nice trucks. I bought it with the 5.0, I like my V8s too. Especially in a truck we plan on pulling a travel trailer with. Just working a V6 too hard.
I didn't get in any XLTs but this Lariat I'd definitely luxury, and designed very nicely. We didn't even look at the Platinum. If we went that way definitely would have had to pull those letters off the side of the bed. Wonder who the genius is that came up with the idea of putting those on. If anyone that reads this has a Platinum and like the letters, no offense, just personal preference!

I saw 2 new Dodge Ram pickups with huge lettering on tailgate that says ram in chrome, talk about intrusive looking.

Yep...my son just bought a 2012 F-250 diesel the previous owner put chrome all over this thing. Took those 5-6 inch wide chrome strips and put them along the whole bottom of the truck along with several other chrome strips. He spent a good part of the day removing what he could, I'm sure I'll be helping with the rest.
