All,

I'll be doing my first paint correction soon (GG6, HD Speed, HD Poxy) as was wondering which soap and quick detailer I should purchase for paint protection/shine in between washes.

Also, how do you all feel about Meguiars Ultimate Wash & Wax as a maintenance soap? I like it because it is from Megs and it is available over the counter instead of having to order online.

Might also use the Megs Wash and Wax as a pre-soak with my foam gun since it is cheap, then wash with a CG soap.

IMO the megs soap will be better then the CG's soap.

I just purchased D156 (similar to Ultimate quik wax) as my spray wax of choice to use after washing. Others have recommended M135 (similar to ultimate quick detailer)for both between washes and after wash as a drying aid.
I don't touch my car with anything between washes as I live in a desert environment.

The soap is nice but I personally prefer to have no wax in mine. Maybe try Gold class instead. It is said to be super slick and sudsy.

If you do want a pre soak soap, better to get one for pre soaking like hyperwash. I used to use my old sonax shampoo as my pre soak but never liked how it turned out, was hard to wash off and left a sticky residue.

Technically you would have no problems but at the price, you would be better off getting something in a gallon size made for pre soaks. I use chemical guys honeydew as my go to foam now. Maybe get that seeing how you have access to cg.

Just talking about this in a separate thread... but am currently using Sonax's brilliant shine detailer... yes for a simple application + quick protection and shine... no for slickness or a waxy surface

Personally, I don't touch my car with anything between washes. My car is black, so I have to be really careful about creating swirls.

I'll spot clean bird droppings with Meguiars QD spray, but that's the extent of it.

If you're looking to clean up your car without the hassles of dragging out hoses and such, a waterless wash is probably your best bet. Just keep in mind it isn't as simply as quickly wiping down your car with a QD spray.

I recommend using Wolfgang Uber Rinseless at waterless wash dilution.

I'm just looking to add extra durability to my LSP (HD Poxy) and some shine in between washes. "emmjaygti" mentioned D156 and it seems like it is exactly what I am looking for!

Then again Desertnate, you're right. I should probably avoid all contact with my paint in between washes, lol!

HD Express, it works really well in conjunction with Poxy. If you want to go in another direction I have maintained Poxy with Blackfire Midnight Sun C. Spray Wax

3D HD Express Quick Wax

I own and have used both on top of Poxy.

I also really like HD Touch, I bought a gallon of that. I have a number of other ww's and it's now my favorite.

3D HD Touch - Detail Spray & Waterless Wash 32 oz.

I would also recommend this, or any of the excellent waterless wash concentrates vs a detail spray. You get so much more for your money buying a concentrate. The different dilution rations allow it to make multiple different products.

Here are some recommendations:

Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash, no rinse car wash

Waterless Auto Wash Concentrate, concentrated waterless wash, spray car wash concentrate

BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Waterless Wash Concentrate, car wash concentrate

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine: clay lubricant, optimum rinseless wash, no rinse car wash, optimum detailing products

Ultima Waterless Wash Plus+ Concentrate, concentrated waterless auto wash, waterless car wash

I was going to recommend HD express wax as well. I am a believer in synergy.

I would also recommend HD Wash over Meguiar's Ultimate. It blows Meguiar's away in performance and dilution ratio. Works very well in a foam gun. I enjoyed using HD Wash. Good way to add a little gloss boost every now and then.

3D HD Wash, wash and wax car shampoo

I heard good things about 3D Pink Soap as well. Leaves nothing behind from my understanding.
