After reading thread last night on Grit Guard Washboard. I decided to make my own.

I wanted to have GGW not as steep angle as unit from Grit Guard with this said and using an existing GG I was able to modify to 25 degree angle. I feel this will work really in my rinse bucket with my 10" Boar Hair Brush.

Modified GG is very solid. I plan on using it tomorrow if needed I `m going to Swiss cheese the UHMW if debris lays on top.

I would appreciate any feed back. I used some scrap UHMW from a piece of equipment from my work.

You might not be able to tell in the bucket there is a Yellow Grit Guard flat in the bottom.

I surely figured there would be some questions......

That's what I was about to ask!

Good idea, however the original design is still superior IMO , I seen it at detail fest and its angled pretty nice.

Great idea tho , quite creative

Thanks Joe and I appreciate your opinion. Have you used one yet talk is what was seen at SEMA is not what they are producing?

One poster to Grit Guard Washboard thread said he had to zip tie GGW to GG. Mine is solid no need for zip ties.

Pretty cool when people get creative and come up with their own take on things. Thanks for sharing.

I will admit, I don't care for the scrubbing feature. Although it's one of the product's selling point, I've never been impressed. I mainly use it for keeping the dirt from kicking up & keeping the towels from sitting atop of debris. I've found scrubbing with my own digits to be more effective (when using single wash media).

Got to give you credit you found a way to properly have the board balanced !

And will get the job done that's for sure.

I seen if at detail fest it had more angle on the side, and is a good idea overall.

Your idea should and will get the job done. And you wouldn't need to buy one with your design !

they sold out at pretty fast at detail fest

I have used modified GG in my rinse with 2 bucket washes and this slight angle works really well with my 10" Boar Brush.

It is so easy to work brush up and down versus a flat GG in bottom of rinse bucket.
