So my power washer broke and need a new one.
i really only used it for the house but i am now thinking about using it for the cars as well.
I would like to know if many of you guys use a power washer to wash the cars you work on
and what kind of washer do you use. I dont really want an electric one , i prefer gas. I know i dont need one more than 3000 psi. I have been searching a little and see some that you can
actually put soap in and dont have the little hose to suck what ever cleaning solution you
decide. i am wondering if you can use that to foam a car up. Any input about a power washer
that you use will be appreciated thanks.

Go with a Honda may cost more but it's better than Briggs Stratton .

Gas pressure washer for cars is likely overkill.

If you want a gas pressure washer: Honda motor. CAT pump. Electric start is nice!

If you'll be using a surface cleaner in the future, take note of their flow requirements!

I have a Dewalt 3800. Definitely overkill for cars, have to be mindful of your distance when using something that can eat concrete like its nothing lol

What PSI is good for removing bugs and will be paint safe. I'm looking at getting an electric so I don't disturb the neighbors.

I got a gx 390 and can regulate pressure from 4000 psi to 100 psi or even less.electric PW is a different ball game, but is good for personal use not commercial.1000 psi with a little distance would be fine for removing bugs.I always use the white tip wide spray.

I have the Generac 2800 psi. Works great. I buy mine from Pressure Washers Direct.I just looked they are on sale till 3/29

I went to the website, i was looking at the 2800 also. looks nice for the price.
I was wondering about the on board soap tank. Do you use it with car soap and foam up
a car when you wash? I also noticed the 3100 has 2 tanks, im wondering if that is better because i can use one for car soap only and the other one for a different kind of soap for
around the home.

I don't use the soap tank and the 3100 would be a bit much for car washing. You don't want to knock emblems and mouldings off. For the price it a great machine IMHO. They ship them fairly fast also. I've bought 2 from them. The first was a Briggs And Stratton and I blew the pump up demudding a Ford truck. But that was also after a few years of heavy use. I then got the Generac.

yea i dont really need 3100 psi. i just happen to notice it has 2 soap tanks and if i were to use it to clean cars i figured it would be good not to mix different soaps in one tank. i actually never used my pressure washer to clean cars but was planning on trying it for the fact of using less water and when i seen some of the washers have these on board soap tanks i figured it would be a good idea.

Consider a "foam canon" to apply soap on a car. The soap tanks/injectors on pressure washers spray soapy water. Foam canons spray foam approaching shaving cream consistency!

I've good things about the:
AR Blue 390SS

It's electric, but not too small (2000 PSI) - and has upgraded metal inlet and discharge connections - along with an on-board hose reel to keep everything compact enough for easy storage.
