Hey guys, I was wondering if there was anyway to get around doing interiors with out a steamer or extractor(just basic supplies) or air hose. I know it won't turn out the best or how it should look but I want to offer something to people until I can get my hands on the equipment I need for interiors. Thanks for any advice y'all can give me!
 
Can you, yes.
In regards to time and effectiveness, there is no way products alone and scrub brushes can compete with a steamer or extractor.
You can however, get good results, none the less.

There are some great products out there that can really attack and remove stains and dirt.
You will have to do your research.
Also look into kitchen chemistry approaches.,
You will need various scrub brushes, scrub pads, and magic erasers.
Don't forget quality microfiber towels that can really pick up dirt.

In regards to equipment, you by no means need to spend a fortune.
My steamer, wet/dry shop vac, and Little Green Machine cost me a total of $200.
I use these machines for heavy duty work, and nothing has failed me yet.

Products are very important in regards to interiors.
This due to various types of interior stains.
Protein, Tannin, Ink, Oil and Grease, etc....
You will need to spend the money to get a dedicated cleaner for each type of stain.
Then, a general cleaner for everything as well.

Thanks for the advise! What products could you recommend? A starter pack if you will? I remember a good deal of the technique needed for cleaning interior its just I've never had to purchase the chemicals my self since I worked under someone.

You can get great results without the tools above, it may just take a little more time on the really bad ones. I don't use any of the above.

Get a good all purpose cleaner for general light cleaning. I use what is now McKee's 37 Hi-Intensity All Purpose Cleaner Plus diluted 10:1. For really dirty ones I'll use a citrus degreaser like 3D Orange 88 Citrus Degreaser at 10:1.

The citrus degreaser works great on oil and grease spots and just about anything else nasty at 4:1. It does well with coffee stains too. I'm not sure if it works for juice or wine. Use it sparingly full strength for gum, and ink removal. I need to try straight on some tar at some point to see how it works. It's also a great wheel cleaner at 4:1.

Occasionally you'll need a protein stain remover.
 
In my opinion it is impossible to entirely clean a neglected interior without high-velocity compressed air. With that being said, if your shop vac has a "blower" function it can work wonders in a pinch for blowing debris out from under seats and from miscellaneous crevices.
 
I would highly advise to get at least an extractor for two reasons. One, hot water is disinfecting and better at odor removal. Secondly, especially on cloth seats, cleaning products can be left on the material. While it may look great the fact is dehydrated detergent is left. I have had an instance where a customer developed skin irratation! Meaning a persons sweat can reconstitute the excess product.
 
Great advise thank you guys. I'll pick some of those products up with a couple brushes and some dedicated microfiber towels as well as some leather/ vinyl cleaner and condition.
