Mitts, dry towels, microfiber cloths

Also, not afraid to wait a bit. However, I do want to pick up a good mitt or sponge to wash with for now. For now I might just do that with Meguiars gold wash and forgo the drying until I spend some on dry cloths. Ill deal with water spots, but avoid marring and further swirling.

I am resisting the urge to go through the laserwash sooooooooo hard!

The biggest hesitation to not wanting to polish myself was having to buy a polisher I'd rarely use. Now that I know of one I can borrow, that is changing.

Money isn't necessarily all that tight, but I don't wanna waste money buying a ton of towels or products that don't get used either. It adds up quick. But, then again, over the life of the truck it'll be important.

I think you'll find that if you buy the products and items as you need them or want them, your cabinet will fill up nicely rather quickly and you'll find yourself using them more often.

I really moved back into the detailing scene over the past year after kinda being out of it for a while. All the products I had are still relevant, good as in shelf life and many new ones are now in my cabinet too. The majority of my money went into a few key products I used to restore our van after years of meh.....and then into replacing every towel or piece of fabric in there. I bought-up with more than enough and then put in a place a pretty strict system of what is used where and worked to have it color coded (I can be a bit OCD).

Love it. It's also a lot of fun to have friends or neighbors come over knowing I can fix just about anything on the inside or outside of their cars. Even my 13yr old son is getting lessons on how to restore headlights so he can try and make a few bucks in the neighborhood as an "apprentice." I've helped him on two cars thus far with him doing about 75% of the jobs and earning $50 per car. He's happy and looking forward to earning some money on the side.

Is the laser wash touchless?

Yeah. Which I know isn't so bad. But I read the chemicals can be harsh, and their water gets recycled, and can have grit in it, effectively slowly sandblasting my truck?

I'd love for AGO to tell me it's okay. Lol

I have to take the risk I guess. I live in the NE and if I only hand washed my cars id either have to quit my job or live with cars that were dirty except for 1 day a month.

Oh well!!

I would imagine keeping a good protective coating on it, and renewing it more often that what might be typical would protect you.

Hood, fenders and rear gate (Yukon Denali) are fully wrapped in Xpel. As for the rest of it, it'll have ceramic coatings to protect it to a 2x a month laser wash...not sure it'll help but I'm too ocd to drive a dirty truck!

From my research, it will wear away your protective coatings quicker. Keep those up and you'll be good! I have yet to get a *good* coating on mine. So I'm avoiding them at least for now. Only a cleaner wax thus far.

I'm secretly hoping a guru will pipe in though.

It has to be better than not cleaning!
