New Product Testing - Monster 4x4 1957 Chevy Bel Air

hey mike, what pad are you using on the GG3 for wax? i thought most wax pads are red

You know I hunted down and found the link to the small tall 3" LC pads that I used for the 3" Griot's Mini Polisher but somehow didn't get the pads listed in the list of products used for this project. I just added them to the list in post #4 and here the link below,

Lake Country 3 Inch Flat Pads 6 Pack - Your Choice!

The pad I used was the white foam polishing pad not the red waxing pad and the reason why is I wanted/needed a little more stoutness in the foam formula to press into the jar of wax.

As for performance the polishing pad is still soft so it's not like it's going to abrade the paint when I apply the wax plus wax is a lubricant.

Thanks for the questions.

saweeeet !!! does it sound as mean as it looks???

Rupes mk 3

That is definitely a Rupes body, can't imagine a MKIII so soon??? Unless its tests conducted with a 21 MKII with 5" BP tuned for even more power to see how it behaves over longer polishing cycles? If its a more powerful 21 with 5" BP I'm sold!

If it is another Rupes polisher I'm going to have to start selling blood!

Great work Mike ! My guess maybe the Zentool polisher.

No. The blacked out tool were MULITPLE TOOLS. The things I was hiding were the new FOAM BUFFING PADS.

I shared this after they were publicly released in post #28 of this thread. Here's a copy and paste from post #28

Mike love your work and Web sight. But I'll bet a flex that 57 is a 210 not a true belair.

A true belair would have stainless around the windows. It would have stainless trim on top of the fins all the way up to the rear window. It doesn't have the gold v's because the hood and trunk are 6 cylinder which you could still get in a belair. But I believe they would be gold. The vin will tell you what it is if it hasn't been changed. It will have a v for v8 if it was a v8. Then the next letter will be A for a 150 model. B for a 210 model. C for a belair. A B C will be the first letter if it was a 6 cylinder. It appears to be a 6 cylinder 210 car. Still a super nice car and a great job Mike did sharing his work with us. I always appreciate the things in detailing Mike shares and helps to educate us on, not many people are willing to share there talent. Thanks mike!

Thank you. Been working on making the AGO car detailing the best car detailing forum on the net and will continue with that goal.

Could be. I'm certainly no expert.

Just to note, I was also curious as to if it was the real deal or a tribute (kind of except for the 4x4 part), and so I asked the owner/builder and he said "yes".

But it could be that he doesn't know and bought the car when it was a car under the impression it was a Bel Air.

Next time I see him or the car I can check again.

no tyre shine mike? ;)

Good questions.

The owner and his buddy seem to be under the impression that all "tire shine" products contain petroleum distillates and they think these types of products cause the sidewalls of tires to crack and deteriorate.

I actually offered to have him bring his Monster 1957 Chevy back the following weekend to my May Competition Ready detailing class and I would show the students how to

1. Machine scrub tires.
2. Seal tires with a tire coating.

But he wasn't that interested so I let it go.
