We received a handful of long neck kits today (short neck is in stock). A lucky few will be receiving a tracking confirmation today. ;)

I am a lucky one as I was surprised to from my wife with the new Rupes iBird kit today for my birthday.

We know everyone is very anxious to receive their new Rupes iBrid Kit (including Mike Phillips!).

The good news is that as RUPES' largest distributor in the U.S., we have more headed our way than anyone else. :dblthumb2:

The bad news, if you would like to call it that, is the shipments are coming in small batches. Today we received a handful of units.

We appreciate everyone's patience - the wait has been killing us as well. We received a lot of pre-orders for the new iBrid System, and we will be fulfilling them in the order that they were received.

A few of you will be receiving a shipping confirmation later today. ;)

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
That thing is sweet,my friend has one and he was detailing a Harley with it.Im gonna get one so many uses with that.

Recieved my missing backing plates today, and got a chance to try it out. I'm not sure if this is just mine or what but very little pressure can be applied before pad will stop rotating. I'm also having an issue with the machine just stopping. Does this with the batteries and while being plugged in. Not sure what this could be. I'll be having to make another call to uses Monday.

Was there ever a resolution for this?

I noticed the same thing. With the rotary adapter, it works fine. Throw on the 3mm or 12mm, and I can barely touch the paint and it's almost stopping.

That's trying with a variety of polishes (Included RUPES polishes, Sonax 4/6, CarPro Reflect, FG400, etc)

Something is off there. I am finding that 12mm throw with the 2'' pads almost refuses to stop spinning for me. Do you still have the shroud on?

Shroud off.

At first I thought it was my own operational error, but even with varying my technique, I can't get pads to spin. That's when I went deeper into trying other polishes.

Very weird. I have no problems with that happening at all. You should give their customer service line a call and see if that's happened with other ones. I was worried about the same thing initially but after trying the large orbit with the larger BP everything worked great both corded and not.

I'll have to give them a call.

I should note that it does with better with the 12mm and 2'' pads than with the 3mm, but still not great

my issue is only with the 3mm throw and 1 inch pads. Have no problems spinning with the 12mm

Did you try Rupes polishes?

Reason I ask is because they seem significantly different than other polishes to me. They are meant to almost work "dry"...

I have noticed some pads do not spin well, depending on the polish.

The biggest technique issue I've observed is too much pressure... think in scale. We require virtually no pressure with the full size tools... scale that amount of force back to correspond to the size of the pads you're using on the nano. It requires a VERY light touch. There isn't anything slowing/stopping rotation on the various eccentric sets like a shroud or anything. The only way to stop rotation is drag and drag would be created by downward pressure.

After adjusting my technique, I've been able to get it working with most pad/polish combos without significant bogging.

It does require very, very little pressure. The 3mm seems to have the most difficultly from my testing. But adjusting the angle of the machine will really help.
