Pad and Microfiber towel washer

I'm sure most of us have seen the pad washer bucket. The one with the bucket cut out at bottom to prevent backsplash, and you basically pressure wash your pads on top of the grit guard that is set higher up. I tried to search and find the original post I had seen, but no luck. Here's a video though.


Anyhow, I did this today, and it worked amazingly well. It removed all the polish and the pad was dripping clear water when squeezed.

So not sure if this has been done already, mods please delete if so. But I also had some towels which I wanted to try cleaning up a bit before the typical soak and wash. I knew I needed something rectangular and mesh-like to hold the towels while I blasted them, cooling racks!

It could be real simple to build a stand out of pvc and zip ties with some kind of mesh or chicken wire to sandwich larger towels.
 
Great idea and I have not seen a towel sandwiched with cookie cooler racks.

When your done with cleaning turn the oven on and bake some cookies.

Are you using garden sprayer or pressure washer. I would think pw would damage microfiber towels.

I LOVE chocolate chip cookies, don't make me. I'm actually a pretty good cook, another hobby of mine.

I used my Sun Joe electric pressure washer, the 15 degree nozzle. I got just close enough to take the stain out, I didn't go all the way up to it. The towel seemed the same when I laid it out to dry.
 
Wow, this is a fantastic idea. I've been staring at some old buckets trying to figure out a similar solution but never even thought about the PW. I can't think of how but do you think this can this damage the integrity of the pad? Potentially cause an issue with the hook&loop attachment on the back? I'm thinking you can just re-attached to your polisher, turn it on spd. 6 (with the pad portion in the bucket), ring out the water and continue using that pad.

From my experience, they're fine. Eventually I'm sure they need replacing, but they need that eventually anyway even with washing machine or padwasher bucket system. I don't think the pressure washer is doing any more damage than those methods.
 
Great idea!

I was just thinking about this the other day, and how clean my towels are if I hose them off right after I finish.

I was thinking of something similar with one rack and some alligator clips or something.

I like the hindged sandwitch idea.

Those are what I dry my pads on.
