Hi folks I'm researching polishers and I'm seeing conflicting specs on this new polisher regarding max opm's I've seen 8400 9600 and some pics of 5400 on the plate on the tool . Which is correct ?

Flex's opm's are highly exaggerated. If you think Chemical Guys hype things well lets just say Flex takes it to a whole new level as far as opm's go. 3401 is a 5200 opm machine not 9600 so be rest assured the lowest figures you see are the more accurate ones.

Exaggerated ? Sounds like a flat out lie to me lol . Opm's are measurable lol. Very disappointing news to hear ,but thanks for the reply :)

There is a dedicated thread by Mike Phillips measuring the opm's per rotation which was 11 opm's for every rotation-fact.

3401 is a 480rpm macine-fact.

Opm per rotation x maximum Rotation = Total OPM.

11x480= 5280 opm.

Mike when u have your xfe7-15 out later on ,could u please measure the backing plate ? I would really appreciate it ty :)

Have you had a chance to see my unboxing thread? There are plenty pictures about the tool and other FLEX polishers inside.

On top of the machine it displays 3k-9k. On the side shows 1500-4500. I would imagine on top of the machine shows OPM while the side shows RPM.

I had a chance to measure the backing plate and it comes out to 5.75" exactly. I am displaying the 6.5" Lake Country Thin Pro pads in the thread.

Tyvm Mike . I will check out your thread cheers

Zubair is right, the 3401 is no where near 9400 opms. Its not even close.

5400 opms sounds about right.

It is due to the forced rotation, it can only go so fast.

Well I wonder if this new xfe unit is like that too then
