Sf4000 keep or toss?

Got into the hobby quite a while ago and bought several products including this polish. I've read this was replaced by an updated formula. Can anyone inform me what the Polish was normal used for and which products should be followed up with ? Is it to aggressive for a beginner or should I be used on slight defects or swirls ?
 
I just bought a bottle of 3d HD AIO.. oh so this is a finishing polish? I thought this was a little more aggressive then that
 
SF4000 is a nice finishing polish with just a mild amount of cut. Use it with a finishing pad (e.g., Lake Country white). I believe the reformulated version of it is SF3500. It is not an AIO polish, so after you use it, you need to prep the paint and apply a wax, sealant or coating. I have been using it for a while, and it is a bit oily, but it has a long working time with no dusting.

I am starting to use HD Polish (not Speed, although I like HD Speed) as my finishing polish, although I go back to SF4000.
 
So it doesn't require another polish to even out just a finished sealant or wax?
 
One could take it a step further with a jeweling wax or SF3800 (previously SF4500), but for anything other than Competition Ready cars, SF4000 (now called SF3800) is going to be your final destination before the wax or sealant.

I actually just found a bottle of Wolfgang total swirl remover so I guess I could use that for anything that needs more correction

I believe 4000 is now 3500.
 
One of the best finishing polishes made.
 
I have used SF4000 as a 1-step many times. It's in my top 3. Use it and enjoy it.
 
I am still using the even older version, PO85rd. I am three quarters of the way down on one quart and I have another in reserve. I use it only for very soft paint or, as I normally use it, for jeweling with a black super soft pad.

Unless something has gone wrong with a product there is never any reason to toss it. unless you just absolutely must be using the very latest and greatest. The only thing I ever worry about (going bad) are multi year old coatings.
Of which I seem to have several left.
 
Would a lc red pad be appropriate to apply? Or should or could I use a Orange? I'm guessing a orange would be OK if I want the most correction nut the red is most likely what I should use or something even softer ?

Depends what you are trying to remove. Least aggressive on a test spot always.
 
I also own the version called PO85RD. I have a BMW with hard paint. I can get the finish absolutely swirl free, but a slight "fog" remains in the finish. PO85RD gets rid of the fog, so I will always own this product. I hope I don't run out because I have no idea what the product is now called (I think it's the SF3800, previously known as PF4500 or something). The name of the product has changed at least twice in 4 years. Menzerna makes good products, but their marketing is an absolute disaster.

You will be fine if you run out of the po85rd, the new formulas are even better.

And i think po85rd has to be one of the hardest polishes names ever lol.

But i do agree that menzerna needs to stick with a system, but i think they have the names down now. The numbers have meaning this time around. The finishing polishes are all in the 3000 range, midgrade polishes are in there 2000 range. And the compounds are 300 and 400.

So they should stick with these names for a while..... i think.
 
So I could top with a LSP after a orange pad pass with this product ?
