Collinite 845 Review

I love the stuff.
I have been super busy at work or with the girlfriend and haven't got to throw any wax on my car since at least last October.
It has rained buckets a few times in the past weeks and it still out beads pretty much every car in the parking lot at work.
I have been rinsing it off at a local spray wash and done a few ONR washes over the spring and winter. It might not be quite as shiny as it could be but man does it bead.

Thin, thin is always the answer with 845.
Warm it up in the sun or some water and put a dot or two on a applicator. You are good to go.

I put the bottle out in the sun and it turned to pure liquid. Ba ha ha. Worked great. three little drops on the pad.
 
What do you all think of the way 845 crystallizes when not it use? I read about that in the guide thread and stayed away for that reason.
 
It doesn't really crystallize. It's more like separation of the solids and the liquids in the product. Nothing I've seen hardens into anything resembling hard crystals.

Warming it up like everyone has mentioned along with a good vigorous shake is all it needs to put the product back to normal.
 
For those of your that apply it by hand, what kind of applicator do you use?

Once it is seasoned yes, only a couple drops. Less is more with 845.

Seasoning same as priming?

So when I start out I should use say 4-5 drops to get the application "seasoned"?

Yes, same thing. It depends on size of applicator or pad you're using. Just experiment a little. Watch to see how it lays out in the vehicle. Less is more!

Collinite 845 is a "Gateway Drug".
In no time you will be doing 476 and 915
 
I use 845 over Klasse AIO for all winter protection here in the crappy NY winters. The combination of these two is absolutely unreal for the protection it provides. Mine was coated with the KAIO, then 3 coats of 845 in mid-October. In late March, it was still beading like crazy on the entire truck.

I need to do some light correction this spring, and will be using HD Speed (recommended by an awesome forum member) topped with 845.

But in the fall, I think I'll apply the KAIO/845 combo again. It's like an armor plate. :)

>>Damp the applicator in distill water. That way pad wont soak up all the wax. I use three drops, tap it all over the panel and apply in a circular motion. More or less its enough for most the panels. For roof and bonnet, it require a little more. Applying thin is the key.

Ive got the EZ creme glaze in the garage - used it on a few cars. also tried a handful of their detail sprays. just bought a gallon of the V7 since it was on sale. I like the P40 stuff pretty well. I was only joking about the smells they make - they make a "stipper" scented something IIRC, but at any rate - they seem to focus a lot of energy on the smell of their products....
 
I find Collinite last longer if I allow it to bake under the sun for a full day after applying and removing.

I did my car two weeks ago and it has poured left and right in SW Florida just about every day, yet my car looks like I just washed it yesterday. Nothing sticks. Barely any dirt or water spots.

There may be better products out there, but given how well Collinite 845 works, it's not worth the money to experiment with other waxes.

I'm glad your happy with #845 and when you find something you like, use it and use it often. That said, if you like #845 for durability you should try #476 from Collinite!
 
It's my favorite LSP. I have found that it will bead for 11 months. Going to test it on a boat soon.
