Collinite 845 Review

I've been wanting to try 845 for a long time now but looking at how much wax I have on the shelf...

I hear ya. some of these products last some of us so long, it sucks to get another one because you have so many of the "old" stuff.

I wish they made like little 6oz bottles or something. lol

Did a quick detail in the wife's car; red7, Megs soft wash, dry, poorboys black hole, collinite 845....
Megs APC interior and engine bay wipe down, bowdens own leather protector, collinite wheels.. Turtle wax endurance tyre shine...
Big storm this weekend so only a garage shot... Collinite delivers once again....

Unless your boat is in great shape,I would use their fiberglass boat cleaner first, wipe & apply 845. It seems to help the with the durability and it removes any light oxidation. You do not want to apply 845 over oxidized gel coat.

11B250 made a super comment. Wish they had smaller size bottles of product so you could "sample" before jumping in. This probably applies more to the hobbyist, but what a great idea. I know it would cost more to package in small containers but maybe a cheaper way could be found. The cosmetic industry does this all the time and so do drug manufactures. Would be nice to see some manufacturer step up and "Dare to Compare".

If this was the case, I'd be able to test more products and really see what works for me.

Everytime I get a product, it's too much for me that does it as a hobby on my personal vehicles, and usually last me several years! Then I'm too cheap to buy and try everything out there only for it to sit.

I'm somewhat in the same boat. Do a full detail on mine twice a year, once on my other car and then maybe a friends or family members car. But I do make an attempt to try everything at least once anyways. But usually stick to what works for me and use it a lot.

Something like Collinite 845 is a no brainier to try at least once, it's cheap and has a great reputation.

Edit.. I am going to try #476 come this winter for sure. Living in New England I would love to see how look this product lasts vs jetseal and WG sealant. Those are still my favorite.

I love Collinite #845!! I use it when someone wants their cars to be protected with affordable price :)

Off-topic I guess, but I just wish they (meaning all paste wax mfrs) could make liquid versions of their paste waxes. Liquids are so much easier to use with a DA. I'd love to try a liquid version of Fuzion.

Just tried the 915....very easy to work with. Probably gonna try out the 845 after I use up what I have. Hard to prioritize my wish list. I want it all!!!

Twice a year I ice down some beer, head out to the garage, put some music on, and do my semi-annual protection on the two DD's in our household.

1. DG 601/105 combo
2. 845
3. Top with DG Aquawax

Rest of the year, i just top with Aquawax after every other maintenance/rinseless wash. Water is basically allergic to my paint/glass all year round.

That's a great allergy to have if you're a car. :D I'm going to be trying this stuff soon. Going to stick it on top of my Blacklight/JetSeal, I had some XXX on top of that, which is great, but I'm getting a little addicted to waxes. Not good for my wallet. So before the winter I will stick some of this 845 on there. :)

Reply to myself... I put a thin layer on 845 on my car, and I used about 1 oz of product to do the entire car! I did it by hand, was sunny and not sunny. (Sun couldn't make up its mind today) So I didn't want to add heat to my paint by machine. The method I used was to just tilt the bottle about 70 degrees (with it being full) while the applicator is on the top. I do two little spots like this. It is enough to do the entire hood, after the applicator is primed you can use less. It spreads so much. I'm really blown away. This product is a steal at this price. :)
