Preferbly something I can pick up locally to coat my new flat black wheels before I have them mounted on my car, as I would like to mount them ASAP!

Guess I should post a pic. Drag DR-67 17x8.5 for my 2014 Phantom Grey Cadillac ATS Sedan. I think they're gonna look hot like fire!

Nice wheels man...gonna look sick on the caddy! Ive used mckees 37 wheel glaze on a similar finish wheel and they came out awesome. Not sure about locally but you can always go to the one stop shop....autogeek.net! Its like 25 bucks...well worth it

Glaze will burn off real quick and one apc wash gone.coat with mckees coating.

I only suggest with experience .I put mckees on my merc wheels, and if anyone knows cars merc and BMW wheels get caked up quick.yesterday it rained so I washed it real quick and didn't use anything but water for the rims.

How about this? CQuartz DLux Plastic & Wheel Coating? I just don't want to mess up the matte paint.

It can't get any easier than mckees.Dlux is tacky and finicky to work with.use cq uk if you don't want mckees.

But then again, maybe it can.

I got this idea from another poster (Don't remember who. But I remember it was a reputable guy. Pureshine?). Clean the wheels, spray with CarPro Hydro2 Touchless, hit with a hard rinse.

I got the product, but haven't tried it yet.

Hydro2 is quick and easy but it won't last as long as a coating.

Gtechniq Wheel Armor is another good one.

That deosnt compare to a coating, night and day as far as durability and pretty pricey. Its a sealer not a coating, big difference.

Hydro was made for people who don't want to polish and wax and do it the correct way, more of a quick something or nothing.

Second the GTechniq Wheel Armour. Used it on fresh Powder Coated wheels. Prep was simple IPA 10% and coat away. I have also used it on my painted summer rims and seems to really protect. I maintain with Permanon which is similar to Hydro2.

I used gtechniq wheel armor, and was amazed at the results the first time I washed my wheels. Simply using water and a pressure washer and they came 100% clean. I drive a Mercedes, and the wheels are silver, so anyone who knows European cars, knows how horrid the dust is on MB.

Are you saying the correct way to care for wheels is to polish and wax them? I can't imagine wax lasts very long on wheels, so how often do you do this polish and wax process? Sounds like a PITA to me on intricate wheel designs. Hydro would be much easier, meaning one could do it more often, and i would expect a sealant to last longer than wax on a hot surface like wheels.

I coated mine with 22PLE rim coating, and top off with hydro2 every month or so.

intially coat the wheels, then if you want spray them down with hydro as a maintenance ,I never mentioned waxing the wheels.I used waxing and polishing referring to the car paint.
