NEW Product Review - 2 cool products to make cleaning and protecting your wheels fast and easy!

I'll have to check out that sonax wheel rim shield. I've been looking for a no touch product for the wheels.

Does it add any gloss besides the wheel looking so clean? lol

How does Pinnacle Advanced Wheel Cleaner Concentrate compare to the Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner 3.0?

Wolfgang is a more powerful formula. Use the Pinnacle for "maintenance" cleaning.

Did your rotors rust up an hour later then deposit orange on the barrel of the rim?

If not how? Did you towel dry the rotor face?

Tks as this last posint undoes most of the previous hard work... annoying..

Even using a leaf bloqwer to dry the rortor after the rinse leaves a fine orange layer of corrosion....

This only seems to be an issue with some vehicles. We did not experience this with Darlene's Audi.

Rim Shield does make the wheels very, very glossy. :)

Wheels looks great and the paint is not too shabby. Did Nick do the paint work for Darlene?

I"m not sure about Nick but I know I did the hood a while back ago for a video. The paint on the hood still looks good. :)

Nice review Mike and Nick!

I liked the previous version of the WG Uber Wheel Cleaner and I'm sure this one is even better.

If I didn't have plenty of wheel cleaner in stock I would definitely get a gallon of the new version.

I put it on my wish list for when I start running low :props:

Sounds good Frank. Thanks for the comments...

Nice review!

I notice you guys almost never wear gloves. Don't your hands get torn up being exposed to the chemicals so often?

I tend to not wear a lot of gloves and nothing ever seems to bother my skin or me. For these types of chemicals they're not real hazardous especially when used correctly and safely.

But yeah as a rule, safety first.

Do I understand correctly that you do nothing to the Rim Shield after it's sprayed on? No manual spreading to level it out, or any post-application buffing...just spray and let it dry?

Correct. Spray then walk-away.

Excellent review Mike, lots of good information here too, I'll have to pick up some of these products.

:dblthumb2: :goodpost:

Thanks Craig!

Great review. I'm very interested in this new Sonax product, but was curious to know how it stands up in durability compared to Car Pro's Hydro2? Which has been my go to wheel sealant for a while now.

Very nice review guys! I really like the layout/look/feel of it. Nicely done. :props:

I know the Über wheel cleaner is a fantastic wheel cleaner and I'm sure the new one is turned up a notch.

Very cool to see a spray on "set it and forget it" type wheel protection LSP.

The Sonax Tire Gel looks to be the "icing on the cake"

Thanks for sharing.

An in-depth Sonax Rim Shield would be much appreciated :) Looks promising to me! I hope that it isn't just an expensive version of meg's rim brake dust shield that was offered 2/3 years ago.

Give Rim Shield a try. You won't be disappointed. :)

Sonax sent me a bottle of the Rim Shield to test/review and I plan to do this exact test as HydrO2 has been our go-to wheel sealant for the past couple years.

Gotta try that Sonax Rim Shield...... been using a very good wax (name withheld to protect the innocent) and works GREAT.... but, a bit of a PITA to use for a 68 y/o man being bent over so long for application then removal.... nothing like a spray can or bottle :)

My can of the Sonax rim shield is due here in the next couple days. Once here I will clean the wheels very well and apply the product and see how it goes. I will do a review for it as well and follow the directions. That said, I will not re-apply after each wash, that's really NO kind of a test, I wanna see how this works on a real DD with Euro spec brake pads.
