Hey, guys.

I just received this sweet shredder for a good deal and it's in really good condition. The paint, however, appears to have been resprayed or wet sanded, or? How can I correct this to a clearer reflectivity? The paint seems really flat, so not sure wet sanding is required. Maybe a compound, polish, and wax? Menzerna 4500 did nada - and a caveat is I have to do this by hand.

Thanks!

Here you can see an area near the upper horn that isn't cloudy.

It'll probably just dull up again from playing. My uke has the same thing, except opposite where my finger oils polished the wood where I strum. (Strumming is done over the fretboard, not over the tone hole like a guitar)

That's what I'm guessing. Since it's not a nitro finish but a poly finish I would continue like you would with a car. I used Ultimate Compound or Swirl X on a Strat once and it cleaned up real nice. Can you test a spot under the jack plate or the neck plate?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll hit it and update you guys. I'll see if I can test a spot under the neck plate.

I’ve messed up all my links! Here’s the update – along with another guitar that I was able to correct for a customer.

Before - note hazy reflections of light sources
