Questions regarding glaze + sealant..

Hello. I'm a noob when it comes to detailing.

I tried to detail my car today. So far I did washing, Iron X, claybar, one coat of glaze (Griot's Garage Paint Glaze) and one coat of sealant (Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze).

I've read that putting glaze BEFORE sealant can prevent the sealant from sticking to the surface. Are the two products I used compatible with each other?

Also, I will be putting on 2 more coats of sealant and one coat of wax tomorrow (Collinite 845). Can I wait one day to do this? I'm too tired to continue detailing my car at the moment... Or should I restart from the beginning? - wash, Irox X, claybar, etc..

And I mistakenly splashed some water on my car before I got back inside... Does this harm the glaze and the sealant I've put on? I wiped the surface with terry cotten towel... But I could have missed some spots, and water could dry on the surface... Should I restart from the beginning? - wash, Iron X, claybar, etc.

If I have to restart from beginning, would Iron X and claybar strip off the glaze and sealant?

You are fine. Always apply a glaze before wax or sealant or wax (the glaze fills). No problem with the splash of water, though it is not good practice to intentionally wet a fresh sealant. You can apply the sealant/wax tomorrow with no ill effects. I would suggest buying a few good microfiber towels to replace the terry cloth to avoid scratching the paint, but otherwise no problems!
 
2 more coats of klasse and then a coat of 845, on top of what you have? look into diminished results, your not added any layers of protection and your just rubbing all over your car more. :)

I'm more interested in shine and gloss... lol. My car is white, so making this white paint shine is kind of difficult. So would adding 2 more coats of Klasse help? I'm adding 845 solely for protection though.

the underlying product, prior to any initial

they are advertised as "The Klasse Twins".

{Perhaps you could do the Klasse procedure
next time around.}

Thanks for your input.

I didn't know I have to wait 24 hours before putting on another coat of Klasse. Good I got exhausted after one coat of Klasse!
 
Question about Klasse...

I'm supposed to buff it off immediately after drying, right? Or should I have left it on the car for 24 hours?

After the buffing of the dried
Sealant has been accomplished...
Consider the next 24 hours as an allotment
for the Sealant's total cure time.

If added shine and gloss is your overall goal then you will need to polish the paint to remove below surface defects (scratches, swirls, marring, scuffs, etc.). Your glaze & sealant procedure will fill in some of these defects and add to the overall gloss you see in the paint; however, these "protective" products will wear off gradually with each wash. For better and longer lasting results you will want to level any defects in the paint by polishing and THEN start applying your glazes, waxes, sealants, or coatings.
 
Bob is correct. One more coat of Klasse sealant is sufficient. No need to be a slave to your car. Good Luck and be happy.
 
Applied 2nd coat of Klasse just now. I will apply wax (Collinite 845 tomorrow, or 24 hours later)

I noticed I couldn't completely buff off the sealant. There are still a bit visible residues/streaks all over the car. I was wondering whether it is safe to apply the wax even though the sealant is not completely buffed off? Or should I try to remove all the residues before applying the wax? If so, how should I completely remove all the residues by hand? Should I use QD?

You used too much sealant glaze. The residue can be a b*tch to remove.
 
Skip the wax until you remove the sealant haze. Hopefully someone with Klasse experience will chime in.

Thanks. I was just wondering whether I could apply the wax after car wash in a couple of weeks...
 
So... what happens if I apply the wax with the sealant residues left on the car's surface? Will the wax not bond to the car's surface at all?
 
I give up... I can buff the residues off, but it takes too much time and strength...

Will using QD to wipe the entire car down strip off the sealant?
 
Or... Can I just apply wax? Buffing off the wax will also remove the sealant residue. And then I'll apply another coat of wax. Would that work...?

I'm new here and not experienced with that sealant or wax, but I'll pinch hit until someone shows up to give you better advice.

"Mist the surface with quick detail spray if it resists buffing." Do a test spot in an inconspicuous place to see if the quick detailing spray will remove the remaining sealant residue - if possible, use some good microfiber cloths. If the QD does the job, go over the rest of the car and call it good.

I'm not sure there's much use in applying anything atop two layers of Klasse sealant. As was said, it sounds like your goals would be better met at an earlier stage if you aren't happy with the current results. I doubt any amount of layered products can fully make up for the lack of a smooth, defect free foundation.
