This gentleman found me via my website. He was looking for the best for his brand new 2017 Jaguar F Type R. We were intending on pulling the wheels but it turns out the locking wheel nut key was missing so that had to be skipped and I will get it back to do the barrels and calipers once it is located.

The car is brand new, so luckily there were no paint issues to deal with. Just bugs. Lots of bugs. Here in Canada, we call them June bugs or Fish Flies. They fly onto something and then die. When they're on the ground, they "crunch" when you step on them and they smell like fish. You get them when you live close to the water. Luckily in my area we just get monster mosquitoes. So here it is with a healthy dose of dead Fish Flies on the front:

The finish of the wheels and the calipers were obscured by the heavy brake dust this car generates:

There were some tar deposits on the lower panels:

Rear Wheel:

The washing stage on this car took longer than normal. First off I did the wheels as per usual. Heavy doses of Tarminator were required to remove the tar and brake dust from the barrels and faces. That was followed up by Zep Citrus at 4:1. The tires were cleaned with Zep 505. The wells were cleaned with LATA.

The front of the car and every other affected area was sprayed with 3D Bug Remover and allowed to dwell. The tar spots along the side were shot with Tarminator and allowed to dwell. It was then rinsed and washed with 3D soap. That was followed up with being sprayed with Americana Iron Remover (even though I didn't see any spots, it's a silver car so I did it anyway) which was followed up with an IronX paste wash. It was then brought inside and clayed with a clay towel.

I like using Essence on brand new paint, but sometimes it plays well for me and sometimes it doesn't. This time, I used it how I use M205 on a one step: yellow B/S pad + Essence + 3401. Holy Moley. Yup, that sure worked! Popping metallic and lovely glow. The whole car was done that way with the intricate areas being done by hand with a mf. The head and tail lights were also polished with the 3401. The chrome tips were hand polished first by M205 followed by
Essence. They got coated afterward too. The wheel faces were hand polished with Essence and a mf.

The paint, head and tail lights, exhaust tips, exterior faces of the wheels and side and rear glass were all double coated with CQF. The tiny piece of trim behind the rear wheels was coated with DLux and the windshield was coated with Forte. The tires were shot with OB from my air gun. Here she is all done with some inside and outside shots:

Working on this car was fun and easy and Lord knows I needed that after the last 3-4 cars I've done. I look forward to getting it back to do the wheels completely. Comments as always are appreciated.

Amazing work as always Richy!! That Jag looks sick! Love the exhaust note of those things...

That's a pretty beast.

On cars of that calibre, how often are you able to sign the owners up for regular maintenance? Just curious.

Nice work as usual Richy and beautiful car!

Just curious, did you use the stock backing plate on the Flex and a 6" B&S pad?

Looking good Richy.....you got to love the easy ones now and then...Jag has come a long way.... always been a old school Jag fan ( xke series) but I really like the looks of that one.

Ok so this one was maybe a 1-2 cigar job? LOL!

Nice job Richy. Now it's looking proper and menacing!!!
Thanks kindly!

Thanks Marc...intoxicating is the word that comes to mind hearing it.

Beautiful job Richy !!
Thanks so much Pat!

Thanks. Because I just do this on the weekend, I don't have time to offer regular maintenance. I just give advice on how to keep the paint clean using good products and techniques.

That jag looks sweet!, love the rear end on those.
Hmmmm, don't know if AG will let me get away with saying she had a sweet a s s.

Thanks Frank! I use the 4.75" bp with 5" pads...always.

Damn that thing looks awesome...jaguar has come a long way over the past few years.
Thanks and I totally agree!

No doubt. They had to get the Ford out of their system.
OMG, I fell off my chair laughing at that!!!

Thanks Tim! That's why I try to spread the job out...more opportunity for cigars, LOL.

Just totally horrible! Yep, that I probably couldn't even afford the insurance on this beauty! LOL

You need to make your way down here to the West Coast buddy! I got room and more cigars than most small brick and mortar shops. Ha Ha. You made that Jag look proper.

Nice work on a sweet car! I just can't get stand the fact that the exhaust is fake...:(

Man, I love the new F-Types. That thing came out flawless. I checked out your website too, phenomenal work!

Question for you sir - it appears you're doing this out of your at-home garage. Do you ever have stubborn customers that are deterred by you not having an established "shop?" I've been getting that lately - I tell them that I do it in my garage at home and I get a funny look. Being in my early 20's probably doesn't help that!

Also, I see you used CQF - does it just require a business account to purchase?

Forgive me if any of my assumptions were incorrect. Again, fantastic work, and I'll keep an eye out for more of your posts around the forum.

I hear you on not being able to afford it, but I try not to covet (not easy sometimes) and just try to make it look like it deserves to.

Thanks so much Don! I haven't been out to the West coast since we stopped in San Fran on our way to Hawaii on our honeymoon and that was 26 years ago!!

I read somewhere about that, but I don't know man, it sounded bloody fantastic!!! I remember a V-6 I did, it had this "blip" feature when you started it, it bliped the throttle. Love at first sound.

Thanks Brian. A lot of my business is referrals, so that is not an issue whatsoever for those people. I have never once had it come up b/c if anyone spends any amount of time on my website, it's readily apparent that every car is done at the same place. I tell people on the phone too that I just do it on the weekends. In fact, I think a lot of customers appreciate 1) that I do this work b/c I want to and not b/c I have to (a have a full time job already) and 2) it's ONLY me touching their car and not some minimum wage kid (no offence to your age).

As far as CQF goes, I have been using Avi's products since the original AQuartz coating that came in a spray bottle. Corey and I have been friends for years and are directors on Live2Detail forum as well so he has been well aware of my work for many years. I have been playing with coatings for longer than most of the current CQF installers I would hazard to guess.

Did you put new wheels on it? What happened to those matte gray ones that were on it? They looked kinda good :-p

Damn, Richy, you forgot to dry it again! Beautiful work. THAT is one sexy pussycat. I love that butt shot.
