I used double coat last sunday and it rained yesterday and noticed a film of wax residue on hood of car this afternoon in New Jersey and was wondering will it come off with subsequent weekly washing or do I have to resort to another means of removal. thanks in advance tried to put it on thin I guess I failed for the first time using it.

Yeah, that's not going to come off from washing any time soon. You can give it a thorough wash and then try rebuffing the residue.

If you were a little closer I'd tell you to come on over and we'd get it off--it should be beading well in this storm we're having.
Get it good and clean and perhaps use a little QD to help you buff it off.

Try driving over to a bordering State
like New York, Pennsylvania, or Delaware
and see if you still notice any wax film on
the hood of the car.

Try removing the excess Wax with
a Microfiber Towel slightly dampened
with some detail spray.
