I met the owner of this 50th anniversary Corvette about 2 months ago at the local cruise night. We chatted with each other for a good bit and he was very interested in getting the car back looking like it should. Fast forward to last week and the owner called me wanting to get the car ready for a show. Needless to say I had my work cut out for me. After 2 full days of work this car was looking amazing. This color is stunning in the sun and in low light it takes on a different shade.

Exterior Prep

Foamed presoaked with general carwash soap and LATA using Tornador foam gun. 2 bucket wash. Nanoskin medium pad on 3401 with Uber Rinseless wash as lube.

Engine foamed with LATA. cleaned up with various brushes and dressed with Hyper dressing

Wheels removed and cleaned with iron-x and D140. Wheels coated with Gtechniq Crystal Lacquer. Tires cleaned with LATA. Wells cleaned up with LATA and dressed with Hyper dressing.

Interior

Plastics and leather cleaned with McKee's total interior cleaner. Carpets vacuumed and foamed with Tornador foam gun mixed with McKee's carpet and upholstery cleaner. Windows cleaned with Stoners invisible glass.

Paint

Machine polished with fast correcting cream, BOSS G21, BOSS microfiber cutting pad. Finished polished with Essence and LC pro thin pad on G21. PC with 3in pads was used for tight areas.

Paint and exterior glass were wipped with Wolfgang Perfekt finish paint prep. Paint was coated with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and topped with TAC Systems Quartz Max. Glass was coated with PBL glass coating. Exhaust tips were polished with steel wool and M205.

Very nice turns around, paint is stunning. Those wheels with that color just don't go together.my father in law has the same car but a convertible.after market chrome rims will change the whole look of the car.nice quality job.

I agree about the wheels! Chrome c5 or chrome c5zo6 wheels would look good.

Nice work Justin and nice before and after shots.

Beautiful work....very pretty car....question for you...is that a scratch on the drivers side door...runs at about a 45 degree angle beginning at the front edge of the door handle? Was that too deep to address...or was it not on the list of things to do for this detail?

Thank you!

As for the scratch yes it was too deep to fully address. Outside you barely see it. The lights in my garage show everything and then some.

That ain't no "rookie" working an older Vette like that, my friend!

Not many Corvettes look that neglected. That interior had some bad stains.

Very nice work, thank you for the pictures and write up. I especially like the shot of the hood. Looks like it just came out of the booth.

I can imagine a whole lot of work, and doing it in 2 days, if it were me, I'd probably be sore and aching for a week.

With all the before pics, the car looked pretty much like any other average daily driver from that era, that filth, dirt and neglect looked present everywhere. It surely was no "show car" before your hard work.

That color is a very pretty color, always admired this color on the 50th Anniversary Vette.

You did a fantastic job! Bravo!

Thank you for your kind words. The hood picture is one of my favorites too.

Like the owner told me. He bought it to drive and not sit. But he will take care of it now that it's been properly gone through. Thank you for the nice words.

Really good work. The shine is outstanding. The engine cleaning is so nice, can eat right off of it

What kind of carwash soap did you use.I like how it clings other than run off thanks.

I mixed in some LA totally awesome with some generic turtle wax soap. I put it in my new Tornador air powered foam gun. Works great. Uses a bit more product but produces a nice thick foam.
