New Polisher

For personal use, get the Griot 6" for under $150..does the same thing, but a little smoother, get the Rupes, Griot 15/21 or the Flex 3401, but get prepared to pay 3-4+ hundred dollars.

I rarely see the Torq 10FX mentioned in discussions on DA, is there a reason also is there a reason I wouldn't want that as my first DA?

very true, the GG6 is a perfect choice for those who are only going to use a polisher a few times a year. in addition to a traditional pc-style DA, the G15/21 or flex would be great choices as well...

What about the original Rupes? I have one of the FIRST Rupes 21 when they first came out.

Original has loads of power too, large throw DA's run smoother and cut easier, to me a must have. Don't pay too much attention to the rotation part, thats old school. The cuts in the large orbit.

Check Autopia and was looking at the Griots Garage G15 Starter Kit with the 15% off good deal how is that polisher to the Flex 3401 ?? and if I did get it I was thinking about getting the Fast Correcting Cream , Correcting Cream do I need those 2 or get the Perfecting Cream instead of the Correcting Cream ??

Thanks everyone I went ahead with the Griots Garage G15 Starter Kit :) cant wait till it gets here

That crap heats up pretty good on the top handle of the machine. I tested it out on polishing my cigar humidor and it was pretty hot after half way using it. I prefer my 7424XP

Also to be honest the 7424XP has higher speed settings 1-6 in higher revolutions as for 10FX only has 4 speeds. The Torq 10FX is a 700 watt motor with OPM of 1500-4200 OPM vs PC 7424 XP has a 500 watt motor 2500-6800 OPM both have a 8mm throw. Just a comparison for a machine package that is cheaper than the other but does much better work.

Which machine gets hot?

I prefer the 7424xp to just about anything too.

With the no exclusion sale you can`t bet it :) Good choice..Griots stands behind their machines / Products at least for me they did....

The Torq 10FX, I sometime wonder if that crap is going to catch fire or explode in my hands. Whoever designed that machine must of been in a rush. To be honest the 7424XP is so versatile, I love the fact that it is a work horse and gives out great results, hard to burn your paint off. I recommend that machine to 99% of newbies other than that they can upgrade to something better if they are comfortable.

Same here. I can get a LOT done with that simple tool.

I just do not use it to polish but to also scrub carpets with a soft brush attached to a backing plate.
