Good black plastic restorer?

Hey guys,

Looks like we may be picking up a 2014 black Ford Escape for my girlfriend. Great shape but the black plastic trim needs some refreshing...I have Wolfgang Trim Sealant which is awesome but I am wondering if I should use something else before I apply Wolfgang Trim Sealant.

What do you guys think??
 
Yes, 1oz goes along way unless your doing dozens of vehicles. Solution Finish is the only permanent solution! No pun.
 
It's much more economical to just order the big bottle. Do the math.
 
I do very little detailing...just a personal hobby...I am afraid the big bottle would "expire" long before I could use it all up?
 
I hate to say it but TW makes a great trim restorer coating product. It may be going away too, so eventually I'll have to switch to Solution Finish and some other rubber and plastic coating products.
 
Solution finish topped with Wolfgang.
 
Megs Ultimate Black aerosol is nice for the wheel wells. It's almost like spraying clear coat.

Do they still get dirty though? Or how does it work exactly? Stupid question, but yea.
 
I'm not really impressed with solution finish for a number of reasons.
I applied some to a few areas on my car, did a wash, and then a wipe with IPA, then applied. I let the product sit, then wiped. Noticed quite a bit of the product on whatever towel you used. And when doing such, noted that as I did a final wipe, was also removing quite a bit of it's darkening-hiding qualities.

Two days later, those areas were thick with dust-dirt, and it appears this product is a huge oily dirt-dust magnet.

Days later, still had that greasy feel, and was seeing black dye on my hands.

In comparison, I never had this happen with TW Endura Trim Coating, a product that's less than 1/2 the price. This product goes on, no wiping needed after, dries completely to the touch and hides defects much better IMO.

Am I doing something wrong? What's the trick with Solution Finish to not have these issues I experienced?

I agree, the Turtle Wax coating is pretty amazing from what I've experienced so far. I'm going on 1 1/2 months and about 5 car washes and it still looks fantastic. It made the faded trim on my 2011 Ford Edge look factory new!!!! Kind of a shame that both the trim and tire coating aren't being sold anymore.
