Menzerna Nano Polish PO106FF vs. Final Polish PO85RD

If I was to buy just one polish from Menz..it would be the 106FF....its a very versatile polish with pad combos....it can do from mild swirls to some pretty decent correction....with a rotary with green wool or green pad I have taken out some nasty defects....it is LSP ready 99% of the time after buffing...great product..I have polished paint...chrome...and headlight lenses with it and never let down...

I have a liter of PO85RD and have only used it once but was amazed how well it did it's job! What an awesome product...

Adding this to next order lol, I'll put up with the dust with how good the reviews are on this product.

It's funny you mention that Surfer. People always used to look down their nose at Poorboys because it dusted too much. But HEY right now Menzerna is all the rage and it dusts so much, people will think you're doing lines off the car you're detailing.

Just funny how powerful the bandwagon is.

Then it was weird as some said they never got dusting from SSR's? I pretty much only used Optimum for no dust, as last time I tried a polish and it dusted the particles were on the garage floor making it slippery as hell. I hope Menz doesn't dust bad :(

Menzerna will dust if you use edge pads but not much with LC
A hint of glycerin in with the polish will stop that and extend the work time a little too

The difference I have noticed between 85RD Finishing and 106FF is this

106 has much more cut and provides really good wetness and reflection clarity
85RD doesn't cut much, less working time but fractionally higher wetness.

A friend in WA called Auto FX says that 85RE5 is the best menzerna of all

I have all three and from my experience you can't tell the finish that each of them leaves apart. They're basically the same polish with different levels of cut that all finish at a "5" on Menzerna's chart.

Now that's a new one on me!! What's its characteristics?

85RD, RE5 and 106ff all finish the same. RE5 has a cut level between 85RD and 106ff.

We need more numbers from Mez.

I cannot wait to use 567FI, 596PO, 21TR and 48ST from Menzerna!!! Supposedly, they all have the same cut, but a 5% variance in gloss.

That's crazy!!! all these numbers give me a headahce, especially the duragloss line!! why do they do that crap!!! why can't they just say "polish level I, polish level II... so on and so forth!

Do you really think you'll notice the difference of 5% in gloss?

I dont think SIP and 106FF dust bad. PG is a different story! Some say SSR's dont dust bad, but Optimum does dust. WTF? Menzerna is awesome.

No they don't dust much if your in a well ventilated area and temperature under 30 ish C
When I was working in my garage at home last summer, one day it was 40 + and the menz dusted like a sand storm. Just temp I guess.

Which SSR would be comparable to 106ff, 2.5? Cutting ability, not dusting! :D

Id say SSR 1. 106FF has little cut.

Actually 106ff has a bit more cut than SSR2 but finishes much better. I used 106ff yesterday on a black Corvette (notorious for hard clear) with a green CCS on the rotary and it did just fine. SSR1 is almost glaze like in it's ability.

Thats funny because I didn't find 106FF to have much cut when I used it, I found Intensive Polish to have much more cut. It is still just a finishing polish. I did use it on the normally hard GM clear with a PC so maybe that has something to do with it.
