My friend with all the Porsches had an Indy Car at his store today so I thought I would go check it out and take some pictures. I have posted pictures of some of his cars before including a post of a recent track day at Sebring when we took a couple of his Porsches. The owner of the Indy Car lives in Cape Coral but I had never meet him before today. The car races in the Indy Series. It's unbelievable how little room there is in the car. It has a sequencial gear shifter. Even thing on the car is carbon fiber. It would be a fun car to detail but even more fun to drive. To bad it's not street legal.

That was a Formula One car Truls. The cars look alike but are set up different. The Formula One cars are setup for a road course and the Indy cars are setup to run on a high speed oval track. One of these cars cost over $1,000,000. Don't forget your helment and to fasten your seat belt (6 point harness).

Surfer you could beat an Indy car ;) off road in your SUV. :D

Those things are crazy, only 4cm (~2inches) of piston travel, 2.4 liter putting out 700+hp at 20,000 rpm.

to put a f-1 car in the same thread as those IRL cars is funny.

Its like comparing a Pinto to a GT40

For those wanting a street legal open wheel car ... I introduce you to the third fastest production car in the world ....

Thanks for the link blk45

The Ariel Atom looks it would be a lot of fun to drive on the road or the track. I built one on their website just for fun. It started out at a base price around $50,000. By the time I add a punch of options it got up to almost $100,000.
Haha, yeh I was talking to a guy in VA who has one that once you start optioning it out to what you want and how it should be "sc'd enigne etc", ends up being about 100K.

Two cars I'd love for track/street fun use, Atom and Noble M400, Noble such an awesome driving vehicle. Atom is a mini-ballistic missile :righton:

Yea I did the same too, this Atom looks like it would be great on a track..oh and the fact that it's street legal is wicked...I could have lots of fun with that bad boy. The super charged engine is awesome :righton: I showed it to the wife and she actually thought it looked "cute" lol I thought it was funny but I wonder how much it would cost me to bring it over to Canada mmmm....this Atom would be a very nice toy to have mmmmm ;)

Oh the video of the guy driving it is just wicked, the supercharger sounds incredable and 300horse power on such a light weight frame is insane :righton::righton: man I've been thinking about this vehicle ever since I saw the link :awesome:
