Help!!! Years of tar, road paint, other contaminates

I'm not sure how strong this Tarminator stuff is, but here I use Autosmart Tardis.

Spray it on, pressure wash it off after a few mins, a few goes of that then wash the car as normal, any tar left is usually very soft now and just washes off, then treat to a clay bar to leave it silky smooth removing any other contaminates.

You could also use some kind of iron fallout remover before the clay bar.

Seems like everytime someone recommends Tarminator, it fails..

Maybe it's black road paint, like when they do the lane shift work and paint over the regular lines. Tar is really not that hard to remove.

I think that'd be pretty rare.. Otherwise it would be common for people to also have yellow and white paint on their rocker panels.

Yeah, kinda of shot it the dark. Could be though.

Get them of before you polish though.

I had some the white road paint on lower side of back bumper. Man it was a lot of soaking applications and picking at it to get it off. I was using Tarminator and a highly concentrated citrus solvent straight.

How long did you let Tarminator dwell? May need to do repeat 2-3 times. Can also try using a plastic razor blade while Tarminator is dwelling.
Trying to buff over stuff like that will just mess up your pad.

I let it sit at 60 seconds for 3 times. I took the clay bar to the car yesterday and it pulled more of this out but I still have some that's really stubborn.

Any solvent you use will only attack the outside surface of the larger globs of tar. Patience is the key to minimizing your labor. Apply the product, do something else for 5 minutes, wipe. Repeat as often as necessary, may take 4 or 6 passes for large baked on globs (the small specs come off with the first pass). Takes time, but your actual elbow grease is minimal and it's easy on the clear coat. Let the solvent do the work. I haven't found much difference between products. I've had great luck with Tarminator - once I learned to let the product dwell.

Have used good old gasoliine to remove tar on many things.

Ever spilled some on driveway ?

Use small amount on cotton ball and let sit for a bit then move around.

Plastic razor blade on really tough spots but let dwell with cotton ball before saw it off.

It will marr/cloud the finish, but easily corrected with polish.

Try small spot fiirst.
