I'm looking for a simple polish that can remove fine swirls and scratches, but with no sealant or wax. Something that prepares the car for a wax. The choices on here are sometimes mind boggling. I just don't know which to choose. Any advise I would greatly appreciate.

McKees fast polish is really nice
Meg's 205 is also really good
Anything from menzerna has done well for me also

Griots perfecting cream, Sonax PF, and Menzerna SF4000 are all great finishing polishes. Use the Sonax PF for a little extra cutting.

Meguiar's M205, or Ultimate Polish are what I grab first.

The selection is overwhelming. However, the good news is the quality of products you find here is good. You'll get a lot of recommendations here, but most will center around 3~4 brands/product lines.

To aid in your search read up on reviews people have done on a car/manufacture similar to the one you'll be working on. Those considerations and your budget should narrow things down to a manageable number of choices.

UP as a first option for me as well. If the paint is on the hard side, I go for Blackfire SRC Polish.

I agree with Just02896... Griots Perfecting Cream and Sonax Perfect Finish 4/6 or Sonax EX 04-06 would be my choices. Long working time, no dusting issues, trim friendly, easy wipe off, no offensive chemical smell, basically "bubba proof" and excellent results. Everything you would want.

Have not personally tried Menzerna, M205 or Megs Ultimate Polish but these are often recommended as well...

Wow! Thank you all! This is truly is a very helpful forum, and why I lurk here a lot!
