Have you ever seen a car door handle like this?

Yesterday my buddy Mike Gelter dropped off his 1947 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe for our Thursday night detailing class this week. I've never worked on a 1947 Lincoln before, I've worked on lots of Lincolns just not a post World War II Lincoln from the 1940s.

Here's the car...

Check out the door handle... it's a push-button...

This ain't no Honda....

Hey, that looks cool.
And just when did the push-button era start!!!! Ha.

I've never seen anything like that before.

Cars had normal door handle when I was growing up in the 90's. Lol

Are there door locks on it? If so, how do you unlock the vehicle?

May's well have a push button door handle! We have push button engine starts. At the rate we're going we'll simply plug in the SatNav destination and have push button "go there then stop"!!!

That is a cool looking door opener though. Removes the need to get under the handle.

Hey Mike
What's the little round thing below
the door opener?

And I thought the C6 Corvette was innovative with its push button (pressure pad) door handle.

Neat, but I bet those push buttons froze really easier during extreme cold temps.

Edited: I just realized that this door handle is probably a modern feature added during a customization? I still like it.

The small round thing below the door "button" is the door lock.

There's nothing new under the sun.... :)

Nope... that's a factory door button/handle.
