Got an oil change and a VIEW (pics)

Nope, they're not letting these babies go

I mean no offense, I don't mean to be argumentative and I've been wrong before but judging from the location of the thermostat housing and location of the front manifold bolt that engine appears to be a 351 Windsor. Now it may be stroked and punched to 427 CID but I don't think it's a 385 series engine. The convert would also have to be a tribute Mach 1 as Ford didn't make a convertible Mach 1. Just thought I'd throw this out there. Nice cars all the same.

You're probably right, but I do remember him saying it was a 429, but I was drooling brain fluid at the time, but I think he might have said it was punched out. I WAS wrong about it being a '69, it IS a '68 because I remembered he told me that it had been at SEMA, 2007 with a 2008 GT 500 sitting side by side as a "Then & Now" display.

But how did their paint look?

Nice cars!!!

I DID check the paint and it looked pretty darn good on all the cars close up and from different angles ... no swirls etc.

Looks like an FE series engine to me, most likely a 428. I have one in my 67 Mustang. Nice cars.
