Mothers Cleaner Wax to the rescue.

Was working on a black Kia SUV doing a One Step.
Serious problems with tiger stripes.

I tired ever combo I had in my shop and wasn't getting good results.
So I went down to Auto-Zone, like in a rush, all I saw that I didn't have was Mothers Cleaner Wax, bought it and headed back to the shop.

What a relief , it was great, I topped it with Duragloss 105
We have many combos to choose from and still nothing good came out of it.

What had you tried prior to the Mothers Cleaner Wax?

I've used it a couple of times on my mom's black Altima which has been poorly maintained and riddled with scratches ans swirls. I've only applied it by hand, but it still does a good job of "cleaning" and filling. I would imagine it would be even better with a machine. I plan on getting a DA soon and will simply add it to the routine for that car.

However, I only to detail her car twice a year, so the protection is more than likely gone by the time I get back to it. I should probably look into a more durable AIO, I only got the Mothers because I too was in a pinch like the OP.

This is kinda of what I was more or less thinking... Cleaning and filling, while leaving the thinnest layer of protection possible is what I've experienced from comparable OTC cleaner waxes.

Either ways it's always a nice surprise whenever you find an OTC product that hits the spot for the job at hand.

I would think Collinite Fleetwax would give similar results with longer lasting protection

Fleetwax is sort of marketed for gelcoat on boats & RV's? It works great on clearcoat as well? I thought about picking some of it up for an RV client of mine, but never got around to it.

I've been using 885 Fleetwax for years and IMO, it's just 476 paste in a larger tin. I've done test spots with both on the same dark-colored vehicles and can discern no difference. According to Collinite's website, it's only for clean finishes, so it's no AIO. I've always had an urge to try their Sapphire Cleaner Wax, but the "not for dark-colored clearcoat finishes" warning keeps me away.

There are 2 Fleetwaxes... one is 870 (which is probably what you are comparing with 476) and the other is 885 (which is a cleaner wax)
 
I thought this was a Mother's Cleaner Wax thread.... and peeps are posting about other products? I don't get it.

As to the OP, I have used Mother Cleaner Wax and will tend to use it on car roofs for SUV's. Top this with Optimum Spray Wax and I can get several months of durability.

Thing is it will sit and collect dust being it did its job for me.
I have so many over the counter products that just don't get used, I use the best that works for me.

Yes, the thread took sort of a sharp curve. Lol, it's OK though maybe this will help others.
