I used to really like Ultima Paint Guard Plus. Then I tried Rupes 808...

Glad you like that combo, but try swappin' out the #105 for #111 and watch what happens!

I've used both and agree 100%. The 111 is also way easier to apply compared to 105. When it comes to nasty winter durability, Z-2 is still the longest lasting sealant I've used but I'm sticking with the 111/601 combo for now.

You can do 601/z2 also but you probably knew that.

I'm interested in the rupes 808.

What issues do you have with #105? Have you tried #501 yet?

CarPro Reload is my vote, especially since it takes 15 minutes to do my car, tops. Lasts for a solid 6-8 months. I know that isn't the longest it terms of longevity, but even after a second application you'll still have less time spent then most others with just one application. Good compromise I feel.

Second choice would be Menzerna Powerlock. It is more traditional in application but man does it look good and lasts through an entire NE Ohio winter and spring no problems.

You cannot go wrong with collinites waxes, especially 476, for lasting protection. Another strong competitor is fk 1000p.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these. I personally like WG and Optimum but they are all great

Two coats of Pinnacle Black Label Paint Sealant. Super slick and if you have metallic paint its been the only sealant that really make those flakes pop. IMO Better than WDGPS as far as wow factor and I think its slightly more durable.

duragloss 105/601 combo is hands-down the most durable sealant you can buy from market. if you really follow the instructions and combo 105 with 601 perfectly you will get close to a year. I don't think any other sealant comes near to that point. some coatings, although claimed to last up to 1 year or so, even fail earlier than 105/601.

However, if you use 105 alone, at least to me, it seems the longevity is quite compromised. I will say a few months, which is still impressive.

I agree 100% That is what I use. The Duragloss 105/601 combo. Put it on in February and is still beading water and super shiny. My car sits out side 27/7.

So my Vote is the Duragloss 105/601 combo.

I've used 111 before. Liking the 105 better. With 111 there is more prep work to be done. 105 has cleaners in it and 111 don't.

This is true but in terms of longevity, #111 is a pure sealant, no cleaners and because of this alone it's going to outlast #105, just sayin'.

The only thing about topping is that you change the looks, yeah add some extra protection but change the looks and in this case you really don't wanna change how #111 looks because it's sooooo good with #111!

Hi all,

I have a new car, and wanting to "protect" it as long as possible.

I don't mind too much about "color enhancement" that carnauba does... more into "longest lasting" protection.

1) Lasts the longest between re-applications (1-2x per year)
2) Longest durability (harder to remove between washes)
3) Hydrophobic properties (ehh... don't care too much)

** I have a TON of Meguiars Xpress Synthetic wax to use (2 gallons)
** I plan on waterless wash my car 1-2x per month

So... which synthetic sealant do you think will last the longest between applications?

EDIT
Oops... forgot to add "Adams Paint Sealant" to the poll!

Personally I would go with Sonax PNS and top it with Brilliant Shine Detailer (which lasts almost 3 months on its own).

Meguiars Xpress wax doesn't play well with PNS.

Since you have 2 gallons of it I would use Meguairs Ultimate Wax or something else that is compatible with it. Synergistic compatability as Mike says.

I'm confused, it says 1 year durability for 105 and 6 months for 111?

Without going to look at my bottles I'll take your word for this but it doesn't make sense as #111 is a pure sealant.

How resilient is 105 or 111 to water spotting and bird bombs?
